I guess most people don't know about this feature, although it can be very useful.
If you write something into the comment log, save the game and reload it, the comments don't show in the log.
You can see them in the history, but that's not the way it should be -

That's not what I meant. Of course they should be visible in the history. But they disappear from the comment log itself which I think shouldn't be

@frostion I have no idea if it's now the way it should be. If it is I would make it a feature request.

As what is being asked here seems to be a feature request, the thread is now moved to the “Feature Request and Ideas” section of the forum.
@wirkey If what is being asked is that a save game should include a save of comment, chat or other typing history, then it seems like a good idea to me. Is this correctly understood? I would think that others would also agree. But if there should be some objections or reasons for saves not to save chat, I guess people would shout out and inform us

@frostion Close. There is actually a little known feature called the "Comment Log" (View > Show Comment Log). Here you can take notes and such to share with other players or yourself. These appear in the comment log box at the bottom of the screen and in the game history. When you save/load a game the existing comments only appear in the history not in the comment log any more.
