Have almost all of the unit stats and properties defined.
Here's a little sample...

-
@Hepps The units look great. What do the purple numbers represent? How will 'veteran' versions work?
-
Ooh I hope the veteran concept is what I think it is

Purple numbers are transport costs...
Veteran units are normal units that can be up-graded by command units in the field. So each of your command Units can up-grade one unit per turn that are in the same territory or sea zone.

Here is the overview of what the unit table includes.

Some more unit examples with follow in the near future
-
@Hepps How do you acheive the light blue around the islands? Is it built in (base tiles), or translucent blue in the relief tiles?
-
@Zim-Xero Either will achieve the same effect. For this game I will probably put them into the relief layer as I want to try and do a very minimal decorative approach for this map.

The picture reminds me I wish the swastika would be usable. I don't know what kind of legal issues this can cause, tho. Guess better not, if any, and up to the repository admins, that take the responsibility, of course.

IMO, historical accuracy shoud never be compromise, lest we forget history. I think the European rules which ban swasticase shoul not appply to this game.. Using the symbol a-new... should be banned.
-
@Zim-Xero
Lucky for us Europeans it is not EU rules. Most EU countries have no game censorship worth mentioning. Germany is the most restrictive and bizarre example of a state censoring games, and the state does not give games the same rights to display historical content as for example movies. As I understand, in 2017, the only way to play it safe and not get your game blacklisted is by still not depicting Nazi symbols or blood and guts. I found this new entertaining but informative video concerning the subject

@Hepps I believe for TripleA we are still not allowing Swastika images in maps given certain countries regulations around them. Please make sure to adhere to that.
-
@redrum It was really just the template from the original design. It hadn't even registered on me it was still there. Not a big deal. I've blurred out the image on the sample and I will ensure the dreaded swastika is omitted from the game.
-
I think a lot of people would appreciate if you still made it possible to use historically correct graphics. I have tried to do this by making the game zip also contain a folder called Historically-Correct-Graphics. This houses some alternative and historically correct unit graphics for players to use. Here are some samples:

PS: I would find it strange if this website had to be under self censorship, unless we are hosted by North Korea or something.
-
@Frostion I believe that is not acceptable, either, as a mapskin got almost removed, because of something like that.
Well, I'm sorry; I was just not able not to say it. I didn't want to start the diatribe again, since the developers have made clear they don't want the swastika in their repository, and it's their personal decision we accept.
I don't actually know if the Finnish swastika is permissible, as it was used since WWI and has nothing to do with the nazist swastika, existing since before the nazist ever existed, and just happening to look the same. I guess the Finnish swastika is fine, but I can't be sure. Better you make sure to ask the main developers about it, before going ahead, I think.
-
@Cernel I do not intend to include any controversial artwork within the game. It really isn't important enough to risk offending anyone.
-
@Cernel "I didn't want to start the diatribe again" ... but you did

If someone is worried about offending people, then think about the 1-2 billion Chinese, Indonesians, Koreans, Filipinos, and Indochinese who could be offended by the Japanese rising sun flag, since soldiers under that banner killed approximately 6 million people.Swastikas are only a problem if used inappropriately, and that is when it glorifies or promotes Nazism. If TripleA is to practice self censorship when depicting WW2 scenarios, this will lead to a whole lot of issues. The world is bigger than Germany and their outdated denazification rules. Many other countries in the world have their own ways of being offended.
Like bans on all soviet symbols in many countries. Should TripleA then delete all soviet markers on all maps because of this? And there are a lot more people living in these countries than Germany.

http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/english/doc/2004-05/29/content_334845.htmHearts of Iron releases has seen it necessary to black out the exact same picture of Hitler used in TripleA map World War II v3. Should TripleA delete this map?
Not to mention the big fat swastika in Berlin on the TWW map.
-
Not to mention the big fat swastika in Berlin on the TWW map.
Damn it! Somehow how I knew you were going to draw attention to that.

-
So the rules that I believe Veqryn made a while back was no Nazi symbols in TripleA and the forums. Paradox games enforces this same rules as well regarding Hearts of Iron and its forums.
If you guys want to bring that rule back up for discussion then let create a separate thread preferably in the bunker as to not hijack @Hepps map development.
-
@redrum Since I am neither pro swastika nor anti... and since I don't care one way other another.... it would be nice to move this topic to its own thread if we are going to have a deep philosophical debate on its or any other historical icons use in Triple A.

Here is another little peek at a section of the unit chart...

More to come.
