Crazy Europe: House of Habsburg

And lastly.... in the same vein as the channel Islands.... perhaps it would be prudent to include Scapa Flow for a MOD of a different era.
-
Looks great to me
-
Map is 100% complete.
It is now all in the hands of the Holy Roman Emperor.

@hepps The Crazy German Holy Roman Emperor
-
Looks as though there might be some final revisions... but here is a little taste of whats to come...
-
@Hepps At first glance it is pretty hard to see what is water and what is land … maybe problematic. Could all shores somehow be more outlined or something? Also, I don’t think that shore and deep sea need to be that different in color, just a bit different maybe.
-
@hepps Very nice and pleasant to look at. I think it is just perfect as it is, as long as the colour for Sweden in changed to something else.
Only thing is that when you zoom you see the black lines underneat, but hopefully a developer might address that. I'd take this map to cut a feature request about that.@Frostion I think the strong difference in the sea is fine, as long as nothing else is blue.
Probably too late now, sadly (one of the problem with relief is that get in the way of any further touch), but, at this scale, if this would be a WwII game, I would surely split "Leningrad" in two, to represent Shlisselburg in the east, that was an important fortress back then too.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shlisselburg
In 1554-1555, during the Russo-Swedish war, Swedes laid a siege of the fortress, with no success. In response, Muscovites besieged Vyborg, with no success either[12].
During Livonian war, in 1582 Swedish troops led by Pontus De La Gardie almost captured the fortress. After a row of artillery fire they managed to break into one of the towers, but were later repelled by Muscovites[12].
The fort was captured by Sweden in 1611 during the Ingrian War after nine months of siege, when the defenders lost every 9 men of 10. As part of the Swedish Empire, the fortress was known as Nöteborg ("Nut-fortress") in Swedish or Pähkinälinna in Finnish, and became the center of the north-Ingrian Nöteborg county (slottslän). -
Anyways, that territory should be Russian at this time. Just a note for @CrazyG.

-
@general_zod Map edge? I hadn't noticed.
-
Both France and Sweden have problematic colors, but I was just taking the colors and units from Age of Tribes. I can probably find better colors by making France more purplish and Sweden more Greenish. I like Hepp's colors where he made Russia a much lighter more mellow green
I'm keeping St. Petersburg as Swedish controlled, it gives Russia an interesting choice at the start of the game.
-
@crazyg The sample of the reliefs was just a taste of a work in progress... the colouration concerns should be addressed with some of the other graphical features that have yet to be included. At the end of the day I think the additions will make everything highly distinguishable.
-
@crazyg We'll see, but I think the current colour of France should be really fine. Even with little red in it, violet is well distinguishable from blue (if you are not blind to red), and the sea is proably going to be azure or sky.
-
So is this ready to rock for Saturday?
-
-
Also, to not have the player colors be like camouflage in regards to the units (se the Danish unit and Danish background) you could make the player color a bit lighter/brighter. Maybe by color or by having the transparent background relief adjusted a bit?
-
@general_zod
I was hoping to have the game up for a Sunday multiplayer, however the place file has been a big source of problems@Frostion
I believe many of the users on the forum have experience with colors and I'm happy to take their advice. I know many of players are colorblind, I am not so please advise if my chosen colors are difficult -
@crazyg HEY ! I'm Not colour BLIND! I just view things with a slightly different hue?
-
@prastle Yeh a scotch coloured hue.
