Dropping <loader> tag
-
One of the next releases is dropping the requirement for a
<loader>tag inside a<game>tag.
So in future versions you can just ignore this tag completely.
There was only really a single loader to choose anyways, so nobody (unless you used the TestLoader which really you shouldn't at all) should notice a difference after this change. -
@roiex How about mass removing it from all repository maps and the engine, if it is pointless?
-
@Cernel Backwards compatibility. The current engine version still requires this tag.
So mass changing all of the tags would break compatibility with all older engines. -
@roiex Yeah I meant after the new stable is out; maybe with those other changes that remove the costPU option, that I assume will be merged.
-
@Cernel Unlikely, keeping it around doesn't hurt, removing it hurts older engines.
We'll update everything when the version will be incompatible anyways. -
Update: This change is out for version 1.9.0.0.11440 and later
