How to play online with AI

So a buddy and I want to play Dragon War online but we cant seem to start the game unless we play as the AI teams. Only issue is that the game seems to be designed for the AI to play these teams. Is there a fix for this issue or do we just have to stick to games that don't require AI for online play? Thank you to anyone who replies.

yea if I remember right there is some AI play built into the map. I think most of Frostion's maps do. I would think you could still change players to human though. I could in local mode anyway.
What triplea are you using ? Are you trying in the lobby or a forum game ?

Im using the most recent update of tripplea. Playing online. Thing is we want the AI to play those teams. Is it possible to use AI in online games?

@Gogobonko yea so the lobby and forum are both online. Lobby is live and forum is kinda like email back and forth except on the forum not email. If that makes sense
when you start a game it should look like this:
then click on the Player (Crowton for example) and you will get the option to choose which AI. Probably hard or if it's too slow fast.

Also start a game and click on "Notes" that should give you more info

@beelee this is extremely convoluted. cant seem to play through email. for some reason i cant play through the lobby with AI. really confusing set up.

@Gogobonko yea I struggle with forum games too. would think the lobby would be straight forward.

@beelee the lobby doesnt allow AI to play. otherwise it works perfectly. forum / email just never works.

@Gogobonko oh ? I didn't know that about the lobby. Lets ask @SilverBullet if he can help. He's pretty smart about the lobby

If you are directly connected to the internet, ie: plugged direclty into your router, and have the firewall rules open, then you can host in the lobby and you can add AI players.
Bot games in the lobby do not allow AI players.
