@bluelionman Latest 1.9.0.0 release:
https://github.com/triplea-game/triplea/releases/tag/1.9.0.0.13066 -
Thanks for that.

@Cernel There is no way to finish games online from older engines is there?
-
@bluelionman As long as at least one of the players can host, you can always play live, by direct connection. The hoster uses the "Host Networked Game" function and somehow shares its IP and tells the port being used if it is not "3300".
-
1.9 lobby is still running, it does not have any bots though.

My problem is I have never done that and have no clue how to tell it what ports to use or how to allow it, get past anti virus and such and my brother is even more crap with computers. I have to talk him into loading up TripleA and finding how to find me to finish games.
Perhaps if someone could help talk me through the issues to get it working on my machine and so I know how to do it off by heart then I can get him download the right TripleA engine we have an old game save on and get him to link to me via this port hosting you talk about and we can finish it. I think the game save is from 1.9 but unsure how to load online with out any bots.
Edit: Okay I tried configuring my ports but something didn't work I told my firewall let TripleA 1.9 through but when I run a check it says it cant find my port open. This is kind of above my skill level.

If you're able to host in the 2.0 lobby, you'll be able to host in the 1.9 lobby.
You need to configure port forwarding at your router and allow TripleA through your firewall on port 3300. If you have physical access to your mode, and can plug directly into it, then you won't need port forwarding (typically most people have a modem that is provided to you by your cable company and that is then connected to a wireless router. If you disconnect the wireless router and plug your computer in directly, then you'll take the router out of the picture).

I find this very surprising (the lobby still running, not the absence of bots in it).
-
@Cernel Yeah, we were going to turn it off, but that server is still running MARTI which we have no way to migrate. So it more or less has been just as well to let it run.
-
@LaFayette Uhm, maybe if a server is anyway stuck open it can be used to host as many automated hosts as its unused capacity, like maybe one of them (I mean only if it would imply no additional costs.)?
-
@Cernel That's a good idea, may as well use it for bots.
