@redrum Someone got a chubber last night.

Since the improvements to the consumable resources have marked such a big step forward in making games like this much more player friendly.... perhaps it warrants a few other touch-ups to make the game slightly more user friendly.
I realize there are quite a few things that could go on this list.... but the most pressing to me is some of the key infrastructure stuff you need to look at every turn...
These examples are done with the units set at 100% which of course makes the game nearly unplayable most of the time. I think making the the recruitment and Civilian Economy level numbers a bit more pronounced would go a long way especially when you set the unit image size to a playable 67%.
Just thought some of the active players might want to give me some feed-back on this proposal.
-
@hepps Definitely a step in the right direction. Anything to make the unit images and levels easier to recognize gets my vote. Definitely prefer the goldish numbers over the essentially invisible white ones
-
@redrum Whave done them where the Civilian Economy is the gold.... and the Recruitment is a robust pinky-purple.
-
@hepps Nice. I think adding some subtle color to help distinguish the mass of white infrastructure buildings would be great.
-
@hepps If your tweaking. Maybe change the orientation of the dollar sign so it's in the same orientation as other units.
-
@general_zod Not really getting into that level of re-design. As I said initially.... there are many things that could use some finessing on this map. Just want to make some easy fixes that really deal with playability.
Here are the other things I have changed to make units more destincive.
-
@hepps Cool, what's the union symbol mean, hard to see it?
-
@general_zod It is the American Eagle.
The icons are the actual buttons that were on the Union and Confederate uniforms. the idea is to just make the Elite units more pronounced on the map while you are playing since these units are far superior and cost you significantly more when moving.

Does this map work against the AI? Or the eastern campaign version?
-
@ff03k64
short answer: no
long answer: no wayI'll be happy to play a pbem with you on this map

Hate to necro a dead post like this but im gonna anyway.
Im working on creating a physical boardgame version of this for myself and was wondering if there was like a large/printable pdf of the map someone could send my way?
Thanks
