[Open/Need More Info] Graphics Problems?
-
Hi,
I'm running the Windows 64 bit, latest client version as of tonight's date, using an nVidia GTX 1070, laptop. Game is running on a window in second monitor (not the laptop display). I'm getting some fairly funky graphics problems, erratic redraws making it difficult to issue commands in the GUI.
Any suggestions to debug this issue?
Thanks!

Please ignore, issue was resolved by maxxing out the resolution on the monitor. Running 4k monitor at 1920x1080 was causing the problem -- setting it to 4k resolved it!

Correction -- problems reappeared later i nthe same game, unable to pin down yet what triggered it.

My past experience is that using Windows zoom (the general zoom setting) at any value different than 100% screws up, and specifically blurres, the graphic. It's a long time now I keep it at 100%, and never had further problem, but I'm not sure here this has anything to do, or if the issues I experienced are still there.
Also my experience was that no problems were given if using the all platform, instead of installing the program.

Thanks!! Will try that and report back. So far after reloading the game its working. I suspect I clicked or typed something during the AI turn that messed things up a bit. It appears that as long as I don't do absolutely anything when the AI is playing, the graphic-draw error doesn't occur.

The error does reoccur, it seems to trigger on either mouse-over or mouse-click that makes the game unhappy when something else is going on. So far it hasn't happened on my own turn.
Changing the windows setting back and forth does cure it until the next event. Its a workable workaround but it is a bit annoying. It did happen when zoom was at 100% as well as 150% (4k resolution in second monitor). On each occasion changing the zoom reset the whole issue.

Java is sometimes weird with graphics.
There's not anything we can really do about it.Maybe when we migrate to JavaFX the problems will go away, but this is still a far future goal

Understood, thanks for the reply! Its not that big a deal once I found the workaround. I was very happy to find this game!!
