I've won as both Axis and Allies, but now trying to win as one member of a team (more challenging).

Done it as the Germans or Japanese. Trying as the Russians but my allies are worthless. The USA does NOTHING but build fighters and park them in Alaska. The Chinese just fall back until they have no country left to speak of. The Brits try, but they and I can't do it all ourselves.

@ptt196 yeah you really shouldn't concern yourself with how "fast" the ai is. the term should really be changed to "beginner" or "basic" something. Regardless of what ai you pick it will be many, many times faster any human you will ever play, regardless of your system speed. 🙂

@ubernaut The Hard AI can play slowly on a large map. You can try giving the US the Hard AI, but it will not always give better results.

@ptt196 I've experienced huge "parking" issues in a game without capitals (nor victory cities) I'm making (also huge fleet building going nowhere useful or at all). It looks like the AI is based on some sort of "magnetism" that radiates out of its objectives (enemy owned stuff and whatever else), and, if it is too far from any of them, it just gets nowhere. It seems that this issue becomes much worse if there are no capitals, as, in this case, the AI will proceed anywhere only if already very close to the enemy (like 1 or 2 zones away only).

@RogerCooper maybe, but its still way faster than any human would be i think. 🙂

Actually I found the only way to win being only the Russians or UK or US is to also take control of the Chinese, since no Chinese AI will ever hold the country longer than 5-6 turns.

After beating "Fast AI" up and down, I am doing the same with "Hard AI".

However when I play as Russians (and Chinese), the UK and US "Hard AI" are just awful. I'd say worse than the "Fast AI". UK lost Aus/India/Africa and isn't really helping in Europe, while the US just d*cks around in the Pacific not really accomplishing much.

Meanwhile the full weight of the German army is bearing down on Russia and I can only last for so long....
