HI all, as the post says, I have been enjoying the bigger maps since I got a new laptop and one thing I cannot understand is how I can take over and invade the countries of Greece and Persia as the British or Soviets.

The instructions don't specify in detail what you have to do, I've tried with both countries to invade during combat phase and during movement phase. Nothing works.

Would appreciate some help. I know it's easy, there has to be one step or button not mentioned in the instructions on what to do to make it happen.

      Thanks in advance!

@txla does your map even allow for the invasion of nuetrals? you may need to check the option to allow it as well.

They do. The maps are World War II Global 1940 Balanced Mod or Path to Victory. They have for instance Greece and Persia showing Pro-Allies with armies. The instructions have a bit about the other neutrals but not these. If they do then I'm obtuse and consider the existing instructions vague lol.

@txla that map has special rules for friendly neutrals you have to move your troops in during noncombat, not as an attack.

@ubernaut Right... but where can I find these special rules? That's the crux of the problem is I can't find the instructions to understand how to take over Persia as the British or Soviets. As such, I'm stuck playing these maps.

Sorry if this is super simple, I feel really dumb but I need an ELI5 on this please. (Explain it like I am a 5 year old)

Please understand I am not trying to be snarky or difficult but are the 'special rules' also a secret? I don't see where you provided an explanation on how they work or a link...

It's the 'Special Rules' that I can find no information on, and am unable to 'guess' on how the mechanics of the 'special rules' work.

I don't know how else to ask this question:

How does the British or Soviet take over Persia? Please explain this as if you were teaching your 5 year old son the first time showing him this move, he read the instructions and doesn't understand. Please?

                  With a cherry on top?

Can you please just tell me the sequence and not make this so difficult? lol

@txla i would just be repeating myself at this point if you want to search for the rule book you will find that it's not any simpler than what i said but in fact more complicated.

Is there anyone else in this forum that can help?

I see you just don't want to help me at all, not either read the question to my problem or just be a nice person and help. I'm so stuck on this, and we're going in circles with this weird mind flex game. Bro, just be humble a bit, I'm admitting I'm super retarded with this one aspect of the game. I spent an hour researching the manual, I can't find the conditions for this. Can you cut and paste this specific section on what I'm asking?

If you can cut and paste this answer I'll make a donation to the game. (Because I know you cannot prove me wrong, it's not in there).

I'll donate $20. It's worth my time at this point to stop this nonsense.

                      Any takers?

But it is in the game notes of BM:
                          "Neutrals
There are three types of neutrals:

                          • pro-Axis: When an Axis unit moves into one of these zones for the first time, that country gets a one-time bonus number of infantry, specified on the map, and control of the territory. The new infantry cannot be moved until the next turn.
                          • pro-Allies: When an Allied unit moves into one of these zones for the first time, that country gets a one-time bonus number of infantry, specified on the map, and control of the territory. The new infantry cannot be moved until the next turn.
                          • Regular: If a power attacks a regular neutral, all the other regular neutrals on the board become friendly to the other team.

Note: Capture of friendly neutrals must be done during Non Combat Movement."

                          So, what @ubernaut said...

                              @panther

In the second sentence of my first post I wrote that I try to take this over in every phase and the units are not able to move into those territories (little red x at end of red line). I try to take over in the move phase exactly as the pasted instructions state, but it just don't work.

What condition or mechanics exists prior to the Allies being able to just walk in the movement phase? Do you have to do something with Politics? Do the Axis have to do something to piss the neutrals off? Something else must happen prior...

@txla Please provide a savegame which enables us to reproduce your issue/problems. We can take a look then and probably easier describe what causes them.

@panther Where can I post this file? I have a game saved and I can duplicate this "problem" at will. I put that in quotes because I am not convinced it is a problem rather game play mechanics.

Sorry to sound like a broken record but this is the one question I keep asking that is not being answered, but what political condition must be met or engaged for allies to invade neutrals? Does Japan have to declare war first? This map uses multiple levels of politics on a war board, are you guys not playing this map or see this portion of my question? Does Mongolia have to be involved in the war before I can then invade the others? Seriously there are levels of play involved that the instructions don't cover.

So either my game is so broken that a simple non combat move into Persia and Greece is not possible OR, a very crucial detail about game politics is not being provided in the details/instructions.

                                    Occam's razor...which way we go? 🙂

You can upload the savegame.tsvg. Anyway your screenshot should be enough.

The reason you cannot NCM into NWPersia with Russia simply is that Russia at this time does not belong to the Allies. Once Russia has joined the Allies, it will be able to NCM into Pro-Allies Neutrals. Russia starts the game being neutral itself (see politics board).

Program-wise, it does (for "WW2 Path to Victory" at least). Meaning that, program-wise, at start game, the Russians player (as always) belongs to the "Allies" (although it shares a "Neutrality" or "Strict_Neutral" relationship with every other player). Generally speaking, alliances are always fixed: I believe you cannot even trigger changes to them, so I believe it is just not possible, program-wise, to join the Allies (or whatever alliance) during the course of the game.

For example, since the start of the game, the "Russians" statistics are positively accounted to give the "Allies" statistics because the Russians are always part of the Allies in the game as coded (Look at the "Players" tab on the right side-bar after starting the game.).

Correct, this is how it is in TripleA, and personally it doesn't bother me in any way. As it is only a matter of time, that Russia, not being at war at the start of the game, joins the war (always on the Allies side).
