      also did 2.6 change the default settings for where saves are located?

      I'm having trouble gauging how impactful this is. @zlefin would you mind clarifying if this is more an observation, a very small nuance, or perhaps annoying?

      Alex might know for sure whether there were any changes/updates. 2.6 overall has a massive number of updates... I'm really curious what the answer is, but I'm trying to avoid jumping into researching an answer (2.6 lobby work is pretty urgent here)

        @lafayette I think "unit cycling" should be clarified. That was possible in 2.5 too and even before 2.0 (with the hot-key). I myself have no idea what that means so doubt many do.

          @lafayette Also, in the detailed listing there is a weird line with the first colon having the comment "Step 8 says I should edit the yaml. Did I do it right?".:face_without_mouth:

              it is a mildly annoying detail; though I'm still not sure as to what caused it. It's annoying because it means I have to navigate folders more to switch between regular saves and autosaves; though I should be able to fix it by adjusting my settings. I just don't recall having to do it in the past, but I might be misremembering or just wrong as I didn't use autosaves much in the past due to not being able to direct host for home network reasons which changed recently.

              It's definitely not important enough to overtake anything else.

                @thedog & @Cernel , appreciate the recommendations. There were some updates to unit 'cycling', I think it was something like the 'sleep' was removed or something that. I'm happy striking the line in the release notes. Do feel free to suggest edits to the document, log into github & you should see an option to edit this page directly (almost as if it were a wiki): https://github.com/triplea-game/triplea-game.github.io/edit/master/release_notes.md; it would certainly be helpful to me and the players to have someone polish up the text and make any needed corrections.

                    observation: the crash issues from mixing 2.5/2.6 only apply if you are a player in the game; if you're an observer not playing any of the nations, then crashes do not occur. I was able to observe games, both direct hosts and lobby bots, without crashing either of them.

                        Currently - as of typing this - the "Download"-buttons on https://triplea-game.org/download/
                        point to 2.5.22294 again - obviously silently, without any further info or note to the users.

                        Is the roll-back to the previous ('stable') release intended?

                        Shall we encourage players who updated to the recently offered '2.6.stable' encourage to revert back?

                        Don't always trust TripleA when it comes to rules questions. Know the rules before you start … and better check what TripleA has done.

                          @panther The serious problem is only for bot-users right? Anyone who does not use bots has no reasons not to get 2.6 correct?

                              Thanks to everyone for their hard work on 2.6, love some of the new features:

                              • Potential scramble warning
                              • Showing units in a territory in the status bar
                              • No retreat symbol when picking casualties

                                  I still get websocket errors sometimes on joining, I just had a string of like 6 of them. When I get one I can't chat at all, and I have to re-log in until it works. It happens maybe 20-30% of all logins, and I've never had a run fo the problem this long before.

                                          So the error I get is

                                          "Web Socket error ConcurrentModificationException"

                                          Error Communicating with Lobby

                                          I just updated to 2.6.14759 and am still getting the issue sometimes on login.

                                          I'm not able to access or see the console window that I've sometimes seen in the past with error messages, maybe cuz I'm not in a game when this happens, I dunno, or maybe due to my installation on this computer being setup different.

                                          The error I'm getting may be the same one logged by the builderbot here, hard to say.

                                          If I try sending a message when I get the websocket error on login, I cannot and it says
                                          "Failed to send text IOException: Output closed"
                                          which matches what's in that listed issue.

                                          I don't have any of the special testing settings enabled (eg the websocket beta one under settings - testing).

                                          If other people aren't getting it, then it just won't be that important and we'll figure out why my system is having it, still not sure who else is using 2.6.x stuff and if anyone is gettin this issue, losing track of the prior discussion.

                                            I'm not aware of a Web Socket error that's related to a ConcurrentModificationException. I see this error report about the latter, but it doesn't mention web socket. This would help us understand if it's the same thing or not.
