Call to action, wanted:
- concretely, I'm considering to add a 'featured map' or two to the homepage
- otherwise, please bikeshed the homepage
Currently looks like this (after some fairly recent improvements):
@ubernaut and I were talking, replacing the collage image for something stronger seems like a good move. The AI is suggesting we do a 'featured map' or two to help boost our SEO and link into our website.
What's the vibe on where we should go with homepage?
I think a featured map is a good idea, the collage probably even could be a grid of featured maps. (would be a bit cute to make it a random map even).
We could also lean into another vibe where we do testimonials, and make the page scrollable, so as they scroll a person sees screenshots and more info, etc..
What does the group think? Open invite to bikeshed the homepage!

@lafayette im thinking maybe some kind of simple animated carousel could be cool as long as we dont make anything thats hard to implement

Right On Not entirely sure what you mean by collage and carousel ( lol just watched Logans Run last week ) . If it was 3 or 4 shots that change every 5-10 seconds to something else, that'd be pretty cool.
Might wanna even have a mix with a closeup of some of Frostion's and Elk's kickass looking units as well as others, although I think Frostion's has the best detail, mixed in with the maps.
Like a closeup of a dude and the background is one of the maps or even have the unit from the same map. Or could just make a mishmash like. Sorta like a boardgame cover.
Would wanna mix in some Sci Fi and early time games as well. Not just all WWII. I guess @TheDog and @RogerCooper would have a good opinion, especially Roger, as he probably knows more maps than anyone.

obviously in real life it's not what one would want to promote
but in the gaming world, it should be eye catching Can make the dude bigger or we can even ping @Black_Elk as unit art is his forte

oh yea exactly ! Like 5-10 seconds a collage that has 3-4 maps or just do one at a time. Idk pick the best ones and give them all some air time
