Taking your suggestions for a new UI

Would the about button open a webpage, or would we have a pop-up with 'about' information?
Neither. Currently it just displays a different screen with a link to the rulebook, some text and another button.
Ideally this screen would be a credits section with a short version of the story of TripleA. -
I use multiple monitors and enjoy placing different windows on different screens.
However even with the 'lock map' and turning 'alerts' off, there are popups (and a panel) that I wish I could turn off or place on a different monitor without it moving on top of my main map.
I wish that I could save my map defaults such as victory conditions, so that I didn't have to set it up each time.
I wish that I could zoom in on a map location greater than 100%. -
@admiral-barca Probably should post this in the "feature request" or "help and questions" topics.
-
If you mean the panel on the right side, then that can be minimized by clicking the arrow located on its vertical border. As popups go there are the settings you already seem to have found, the rest probably need to be acknowledged.
-
You can save victory conditions and all the rest of game setup options with "make default" button located at bottom of the game options window.
-
You can place feature request in the topic of same name or up vote an existing request if it already exists, either as a request or officially accepted as a request.

@general_zod @Admiral-Barca I love his zoom +100% (since I am old and blind
) -
@prastle The zoom beyond 100% is really more a function of how the initial map design is done.
Many maps suffer from poor designing. If a map is designed properly the 100% zoom setting should be ideal for even the most elderly.

@hepps k iw ill keep using my magnifying glass

Work has now been progressing steadily on making Triple A sexy. Here is another snap shot of what we have been up to.

-
@hepps Nice job. I think it would be nice to keep the feel you have goin here. But it should also not be confusing. What are they registering for specifically? For lobby?
-
@general_zod Yes. On it's own it might seem confusing. But bear in mind that when you hit the button for "Join the lobby" this is the window that automaticly pops up.
-
@hepps I still want to know who is the examining doctor?

-
@prastle You are the proctologist.
-
@hepps ROFL Looks Great!
-
@hepps Like the concept. We may need to think a bit about what information we want users to provide. We capture very little at the moment.
-
@redrum Wouldn't we want to include any other info gathering to be on the next screen? ie. The first time they register an account... eg.... The "Enlist Today" (currently the "Create Account" button) screen I am now working on currently.
-
@redrum And if so.... what type of info. are you contemplating?
-
@hepps Ah. I think there is some confusion around whether that was the sign in or the registration page (or at least I was confused though appears Zod was as well). In that case, just username and password makes sense. Besides fixing some typos, it works for me.
For registration, I'd like to get to a point where its centered around a validated email and anonymous logins cease to exist. Every user whether they play in the lobby/PBEM/PBF, has a sense of 'account' as this leads to hopefully eventual integration with the forum accounts and concept of a ladder/tournaments module in the game. It will give us an easy way to retrieve username/password and validate our users to some extent. This would also allow us to use the email to pre-populate PBEM and dice rolling. Maybe even auto-register folks to the dice server (I'd eventually like competitive lobby games to use a central dice server as well to minimize the risk of cheating).
But how much of that is tackled now is up for debate.

All nice ideas! I would like to see the highlighted ones as the primary from theses. And the rest secondary goals.
-
@redrum I like the entire thing.
Competitive lobby play and some way to define tournament games etc. would really be a huge step for Lobby kind. So many possibilities and potential.

Here is a draft of the game launch screen...

@Hepps
Nice but don't forget the "Use" checkboxes and "Alliance" identifiers.Also wondering, if the "Select Map", "Open Saved Game", "Download Maps" and "Map Options" buttons will be located somewhere else?
Actually all the information on that window is useful, would like to see the info in top left remain somewhere.
