Victory Points
-
I suggest implementing a Victory Point (VP) system where victory points can be scored each turn. This can be combined with Triggered Victory to make scenarios that are a race against time. Many historical situations are inherently balanced (like the Pacific War), so VP would work well.
So a game property of "VictoryPointScoring" could create a column in the information area to record VP's. VictoryPointScoring would have an option of "ScoreVictoryCityAsVP" which automatically add the number of victory cities held at the end of the turn to VP. VP's could be awarded by triggered events and VP levels could be used as triggers for victory or other things.

@rogercooper Or making a resource called "VPs" and giving this resource with triggers and having all victory cities territories producing 1 VPs.
This is already possible, and what would be needed would be only to be able to test resources stocks with conditions. Then you could have a triggered victory that fires when a player has X or more "VPs".p.s.: I assume you meant that the pacific war was inherently unbalanced.

@cernel I was actually wondering if it could be used as a ranking system eventually for all triplea games? Of course every map would have to be coded somehow....
-
@prastle Well, this would be a question for a developer, but I don't see any ways or connections to that.
-
@cernel well with the new lobby deployment we have a dedicated server running statistics etc. The goal was to be able to eventually tie things together. I wonder if this might be a method? @RoiEX @ssoloff @redrum @LaFayette

@prastle Do I start with 1 million victory points? :smiling_face_with_open_mouth_smiling_eyes:
I guess the real challenge would be getting a standardized system in place.
Just having all individual maps with their own VP structure would not really make any kind of ranking system.
-
@hepps correct you would need 1 per map
-
@hepps then once a map had a system the results could be standardized.
