Playing old games from old engines?

Hi folks, long time player, first time poster here.
I first downloaded Triple A on my desktop some years ago. Today, I saved my game on a memory stick and tried to continue it on my laptop (travelling you see).
I was told however that the game was created with an older engine (1.3.2.2), and the current version is 1.9.0.0.7378. Any way I can make this work? Can I get the old engine? (I was in the middle of a crucial turn!)

@eveningtsar What? Are you trying to continue a save from more than 6 years ago?

Well, the engine is from that time. . . it's the one I've been using.

@eveningtsar So, are you saying that you have this save from around 8 years ago, and nothing else (you lost the engine etc. you used to use for it, but saved the save)? Because, if it is so, you would need both an engine able to run that and the map for it (meaning the original skin for the view).
You are not playing that with the current maps, no matter the engine.
Practically, you would need to tell exactly what game is that, and, then, someone would need to direct you to download the engine for it and the map for it, if not preinstalled (maybe some developer know of a place).
If you still have the old engine and the map is preinstalled, you can put that TripleA version on the stick, and play it from the stick (TripleA can be installed, or the installation pasted, on the stick itself, and played from there). -
@cernel well he did say he is travelling now ... thus he can't do that from his desktop where the original is located. Is my Guess. Either way sounds like alot of work for an 8yr old save
Maybe try some of the new maps? -
@prastle I think he was saying it is a recent save.... using an engine release from 8 years ago. He simply never updated the engine til now.
I doubt you are going to find an engine version from that long ago @eveningtsar

@hepps prob correct. either way he has the releases link and here is the latest stable in case we are wrong.

@prastle I went as far as I could in the releases....
There is a reference to 1.3.2.3.... but I'm not even sure if it would be a functioning release.

It appears that 1.8,0.9 is the last release with everything in the package for download.

@hepps Is it that specific save that you want or do you just want to play an old scenario? I have converted most of the old scenarios so they work under the new engine.

@rogercooper naw read top post. He wants to play an old save on a travelling laptop that never had that engine installed but he took his save with him. (not Hepps). Thus he just needs that engine installed on that laptop. (Did we even have an ai then ?
