epinikion (axis) defeats wasp (allies) in 9 rounds. Axis react to early russian 2 figther purchase with moving the med-fleet to gibraltar joining with the north-sea fleet in r2 and moving the unified german fleet to the north-sea in g3. This fleet was later destroyed by allies but allies couldnt land in europe first rounds and more or less the complete game in europe, except trading. Germany invested all game in inf and arms and builded a big strong europe while japan builded two factories in fic and india and went for optimal land unit purchase all rounds. With some axis luck uk and usa lost bombers earlier to aa`s than germ and japan later. So after 9 rounds japs moved an impressive stack to kaz while germay was totally save and wasp surrenderd. For more details look at the file attached.

I want to thank you wasp for a good pbem game with decent game speed and friendly communication. Good luck for the rest of your tournament!

Gonz (Axis) defeats Eboy82 (Allies). Bid was 9G. The game was surrendered after German round 22 with the capture of Moscow. The game was played Online and PBEM with high speed!! This game was really funny and there was action in all parts of the world at some point. Many key points could be mentioned, but maybe Axis being able to take and hold Caucasus in round 14 had great impact. US initiated a Hugh Pacific circus in round 8 and lots of action was also going on around the islands and Japan. I could tell many more things but instead I will attach the game

Thanks, Eboy82 for a really great game – TAK for spillet😊

NastyNate52 (Axis+10) defeats Mogulrunnin (Allies) by surrender in round 8 following advancement into the Caucasus and a loss of the British Air force.
Germany was able to take Africa early and, with the support Japan, was able to hold the amassing american troops in Libya until the 6th or 7th round. This coupled with the Japanese taking every island in sight kept British income extremely limited. The Japanese also defended very well with single infantry while progressing towards Moscow which by games end added up to a significant swing.

Thanks again for a Great Game Mogul! Cant wait to play again!

** Received email from KingKelly ***

              Dear Deltium,

TOC match Handsome (Axis +9) versus King Kelly (Allies) resulted in an Allies victory. Harsh Axis dices at the beginning, made Allies navy very strong. Having a fleet in the seazone near Egypt made Japan could not move fast. Finally, Axis surrendered, getting a lifetime supplies of umbrellas and a nice cottage in Northern Ireland.

Since I cannot login on the website (tried so many times, never worked), please take this e-mail as the official announcement of the game ending.

              Thx and BR, King Kelly

bayder (Allies) defeated jmpsmsh (Axis +8) in round 9 by surrender in a PBEM game. Allies had Berlin surrounded and the Med controlled. Japan was growing immensely (collected 58 in round 8), but Moscow was defended well enough to last several more rounds, and Berlin couldn't last that long. While things were going Allies way early, their cause was greatly helped in round 4 when Hitler's generals errantly left Berlin a bit under-defended. UK had to lose fighters, but was able to take Berlin and plunder the Nazi treasury, before being evicted.

Thanks to jmpsmsh for a fast, fun, and cordial game! -bayder

Blasherke (allies) defeats AdamF in round 6, in a very quick game. AdamF went for a slow, but solid buildup of troops, both west and east. In my opinion, no decisive battle occured before the axis threw the towel, so I'm having mixed feelings on the result. Anyways, thx for the game, Adam!

Undine (Allies) defeats sneakingcoward (Axis +10; art and tank in africa) in round 20 in a PBEM game.
The allies pushed all fronts against germany, while retreating from japan. Early in the game, the allies took back control over africa, as well as wrestling karelia from the grip of germany. With african money going to uk, and usa trading against germany, russia could retreat units from the german front and create a deadzone in persia. The japanese navy took control of the sea and all islands in its reach. But the emperor wanted more and set his eyes on the american mainland, controlling alaska and trading canada for a large part of the game. A lot of money went into the invasion force and a large invasion fleet of 18 transports by round 20. In the meantime, germany was defending with all her power, but had to eventually give in to allied production, with uk carrying the main push. With the capture of germany imminent, and usa turning their fleet towards the japanese islands, the emperor offered his surrender.

Thank you sneakingcoward for this nice and friendly game!

Panpal (allies) Defeats Comorv(Axis +8) in round 11 in a PBEM game. Germans place the bid in Africa and bought 2 bombers on round1. This made it difficult for allies to land on Africa, but at the same time enabled Russia to commit more troops to deter the Japanese. By round 6 Germans have built their army and started advancing towards Russia, but were also driven out from Africa, which cut their income. and managed to get Caucasus at the 8th turn. That means that UK and US were left unchecked to land on western Europe and build their army there which have surrounded Germany. Japan bought 4 ic early and later added a 5th. It also captured all the islands early but faced resistance in China. Eventually, it managed to force Russia in Moscow, but was not strong enough to threaten Russian capital who had also the support of allied troops. So axis Surrendered. I would like to thanks Comorv for a challenging and interesting game and wish him best of luck for the remaining tournament.

Undine (Allies) defeats Deltium (Axis +10; 2 tanks in africa) in round 9 in a PBEM game.
The Axis were focused heavily on Russia right from the start. This was also reflected in heavy infantry buys, and then a well timed tank buy by Germany. Japan also did its part with 3 IC built all in reach of Persia within 1 turn with the help of transports. This resulted in a dedicated and heavy push for Russia very early on. At the end of round 5 Germany and Japan combined had 82 units in reach of Caucasus, and Russia had no other option than to retreat to Moscow. At the same time this dedication also meant that Allies could stack WE for a few turns and retake africa early. Germany had a strong army next to Moscow, but long supply lanes and pressure from UK and USA prevented Germany from increasing their army much more, and Japan still needed a few more turns to reach critical mass. In this situation Russia got lucky, and shot down both Axis bombers after only 3 successful bombing runs. With infantry production from Russia and Allied plane support, Moscow had just enough to withstand the Axis armies. Upon the Allied capture of Southern Europe, Axis offered their surrender.

Thanks for a great game Deltium!

Valter (Axis +8) defeats Hammond (Allies) in 14 rounds. Highlight of the game has to be the Japan imperial navy which spend good part of the game in the Atlantic ocean disrupting USA -> Europe supply chain. Allies were two turns away from entering Berlin when Japan made a breakthrough and threatened Moscow a turn earlier which caused Allies to regroup. Great game by hammond, a heart stopper for sure.

LouisXIVXIV (Axis,8) will progress as winner in a match against Barca, after 20 rounds. This game was a near-tie when it ended, perhaps with Barca in the lead, but he chose to resign to avoid playing a more hurried game over the next two weeks to meet the deadline. (If we get a surprise giant extension from Deltium, we may fight on.)

Barca's allied play style was economic and conservative. IPC advantage was his priority at all times. For land units he almost always bought infantry. He was frequently moving guys back and forth to squeeze a few extra territorial ipcs for a turn or so. There were no obvious short-term tactical mistakes. He played both powers simultaneously (no KG or KJ) and would sometimes feint an attack against one or the other. He opened with a pseudo KJF. He bought complexes in India and Egypt. He was holding Africa against Japan by purely naval means in sz 34. In round 20 the UK had 6 ACs there.

In round 20 Allies has abotu a 20+ipc/round advantage and a TUV adv of ~340 counting from the start of round 21.

I believe there were two important weak points in the allied position: REDACTED. Barca and I may finish the game later so I can't spill the beans.

I felt I made some errors very early esp regarding Africa, the German med navy, and Japanese moves thereabouts, though Barca's play there was excellent. Here is the game file: 0_1541377778778_LouisXIVXIV_Barca_1R_21.tsvg

vgg Barca. I'm sure you'll continue to do well in the tourney.

Blacskull defeats Sneakingcoward (AxisΒ +12) in 20 rounds by liberating Europe.

The Germans started the game by building a strong navy preparing for a sea Lion thereby forcing the Allied to build a strong defense in London. However, after having secured London the Allied could turn their attention to the navy and gradually got the upper hand in the Atlantic forcing the Germans to join forces with the Japanese navy in the Indian Ocean. The red army used the situation to take a firm hold on the Western Front which secured enough resources to hold on to both Persia, East Russia, and to trade India/Trans-Jordan with the Japanese.

In the end, the Japanese landed a massive invading forces being transported by around 25 transports (which was hiding in the Philippines throughout the game) in Alaska just as the combined Allied forces liberated Europe and secured an Allied victory.

Thanks for a great game Sneaking, all those ships was really annoying all game long !

LouisXIVXIV (Axis,8) defeats Epinikion by resignation after 11 rounds of live play in I think 4 sessions.

I was sharp and practiced after the 32 days of trench warfare with Barca, and had heard Epi is very good. So I was prepared for a focused game. Then there was the ongoing hail of wonderful axis dice. In combination these things proved lethal to the very skilled play of the allied powers.

Epi played a great game, he's a great sport and very friendly. Good luck in the tourney Epi. Looking forward to our next game.

Nasty Nate (Axis +10) defeats Blasherke due to the fall of Russia in the 13th round.

UK countered in Egypt on UK1 but Japan came quickly and kept Germany alive in Africa til late rounds. The Americans went Atlantic and clashed with Japan over Africa for the entire game. Allies traded with Germany wherever possible including several attacks on Southern Europe from the US which cost a couple transports each time. A late effort to combine every allied unit in Western Europe fell short as Germany was able to counter and hold.

Japan took every island early and continued to funnel a couple guys per turn into Africa to keep the British income low. Japan was finally able to push on Russia from both the north and the south and took caucuses. After a turn of building in the Caucuses for Japan, Russia fell.

                                      Game file is below.

The judges decide that sol (axis +9) proceeds as winner against Deltium after 18 rounds pbem in a game with much action in various parts of the map. Summary:

                                        • Axis get lucky R1 when Rus fails to take Ukr; Ger stacks it and holds until about R5, when the stack advances to WR.
                                        • R1-R5 Allied efforts go mostly to Africa where G and J manage to hold Egypt but little else.
                                        • Jap takes the islands and transports units to Egypt.
                                        • When Ger takes WR, Allies refocus efforts on landing in Nor. Ger could take Cauc, but decides to stack Kar instead; Allies relocate from Nor to Arch and keep landing there. Japs take most of Africa in the meanwhile due to the sharply reduced presence of Allied units (relocated to the North).
                                        • At this stage Axis felt quite comfortable; they earned more than Allies for a couple of turns, Japs built a 3rd IC, and it felt like a matter of waiting and pumping out sufficient numbers of units to take Mos.
                                        • But Axis get greedy. Seeing low British income, they decide to make Brit even poorer by denying it France for one turn. Specifically, Ger tanks move from EE to WE and hold it. That however opens the possibility of Arch stack to move to WR (absent the threat of EE tanks), and later to even Ukr. The U.S. gets back to landing in Afr.
                                        • The whole Ger front gets suddenly completely messed up. To help the Ger, and feeling not being able to hold Afr against the increased Amer efforts Jap fleet moves to the Med and transports all Jap units from Egypt to SE.
                                        • And here the game changes direction completely, to Axis total surprise. Amer relocate a big part of their fleet to the Pacific and build new ships. Japs realize they can't compete; and they can't bring their Med fleet back (cut out by Amer holding Egypt, and Allies keeping enough fleet at Gib). So Axis realize the Pacific is lost and put all eggs into a Mos push: Ukr -> WR ->Cauc. The presence of Jap units in Europe certainly helps to deadzone WE, and provides extra protection when advancing forward.
                                        • By R18 Axis had two big stacks (G in Cauc and J in Kaz) preparing to attack Mos.
                                        • The U.S. just built 3 ICs on Pac islands and was preparing to start landing.
                                        • That's when the deadline arrived.0_1543559008923_triplea_Ame18.tsvg

Nasty Nate (Allies) defeats Epinikion (Axis+10) by projection of power after the 7th turn.

On J1, Japan kills 6 Russian and a British fighter in Buryatia but left the American fleet outside of Hawaii alive. The Allies decide to go for a balanced strategy with America fully focused on Japan while the British and Russians work on Germany. The dice were favorable for the allies early helping them hold Africa and slow down the push towards Russia. By turn 4-5 the allies had a decent TUV advantage.. The Germans then made their push and were able to confine the British troops to Norway. Turn 7 Germany stacked West Russia and was going to take the Caucasus. Japan was incoming well around 42 each turn, buying planes and keeping the Americans at bay fairly easily.

UK7 offered little opportunity so the Brits took Paris but that victory city opened the door for the US to end the game. Japan didn't see it coming and the US took Calcutta, Manila, and Shanghai all at once putting the Allies to 9 Victory Cities and ending the game.

                                          Game file below.

                                          Great Game Epinikion!

Valter (Axis) defats sol (Allies) in 11 round PBEM game. Allies cleared Africa of germans early on and Russia proceeded to build a giant tank stack that pretty much shutdown axis operations in the middle of the board. Germans on the other hand built a massive air force that prevented Allies from supplying Europe. When a Japanese navy traveled around the world to land an IC in Brazil allies threw in the towel and called it a game. GG sol, this was probably one of the mentally hardest games I played
