Website Improvements

@RoiEX When you click on the "Website Improvements" in the Recent Topics of homepage, it sends you to the first post of the topic. I suggest this be changed to sending you to the last post, instead, as per how it worked in the old War Club forum. Since it says something like "20 minutes ago", it seems logical it would send you to that post, it is referring to, not to the first one, made at a previous time.

When I click “categories” > “Announcements “ > “Website improvements” then I go to the last post.

But yes, when I pres a topic the “recent topics” I also go to the first post. Don’t think this can change as it is the “topic” that the link looks for. But on my screen there is always a pop-up saying “Click here to go to last post”. Maybe that popup was made because of a request like yours.

@prastle Yes. I have seen that. But, right now I am on my phone and I don't see this option. But it is still great that phones are supported

Actually, I dont think there are many limits to how a NodeBB website can be set up in regards to layout, features and stuff. But this would require us to make our own custom NodeBB "theme", and this would again require one of us to have advanced knowledge in html/css coding and a lot of free time. Right now we "play it safe" using one of three (as I understand) themes that are still worked on by NodeBB devs (I think our theme is among their theme creations). I would think requesting features at the dev site would be the way to go. And if we give reasonable requests, that would benefit all websites, they might comply, for example "show last poster avatar instead of original poster".

@Frostion Yes our theme is the persona theme which is the main one they support.

Also @RoiEX I cleaned all of my playing with the other plugins from a few weeks ago that we are not using. Ideas on ones that are left that we should remove? Do we need Active Users still? Can we make the Categories Title etc match @Frostion font size and color without customizing the widgets?

I would suggest it replaced the widget above the chat on the categories main page. Even if the shout box chat was to be removed some day, then the information about who is online would be nice to have on the main page. If chat was removed, then it could be placed at the very top of the "sidebar".

I suggest all the "Active Users", "Who's Online", "Visitors Today", etc. being at the bottom of the home page, or at least below the Categories; the Categories at top, before anything else but the banner.

I have tried to rearrange the widgets. The categories are at top as they should be. I renamed “Recent topics” to “Recent Active Topics”, as the first name was misleading. At least I read Recent Topics as Recent / New Topics, but the widget actually shows topics that has recently had activity. The “Who's Online” widget is moved down below the categories and just above the chat. I think that it the most relevant place for this info to be. I hope this makes sense. PS: I see the website in 1080p and judge the looks from this:

Wish List for New Forum / War Club

1 A ladder / competition module (check this link here perhaps we can use in the meantime until they incorporate into the engine)

2 Working PBF - Roi has a fix but the update would mean all need new triplea dl
3 Working Database - So user management can occur again for the lobby. ( Unbanning random bans etc)
4 Working PayPal donations link - So that all can contribute that wish to.
5 A new engine release that posts the EV version in the lobby - This way all know that they have the same engine version (example 1.9. x instead of just 1.9)
6 Notification that a map needs an update - this way you dont have to check periodically if it becomes outdated.

Feel free to add ideas to the list

Just want to inform about that I just added new icons to some of the categories.

Just a question: Who is the “Admin” category supposed to be viewable and accessible by? Also guests? Is it a place for sensitive info? Just asking as it seems that I can see the category name when logged out, but I cannot see the bunker category name when logged out. Would it not be best if it the category name was like the bunker, meaning hidden for guests?

Anyone with authority please change this to what is most appropriate.

And can someone fix the emojies?

@Frostion I Fixed the permissions so guests cant find the topic either.

So, someone finally centered the donation button I have been thinking about doing that for a long time. Never got it done. But, it is a nice improvement!
Question: Is the donation category meant to be a visible category on a permanent basis? Or is it meant to be hidden some of the time of the year?
