A new map project for variety of scenarios?

Why wouldn't there be a single world map that appropriate to become almost all kind of scenarios which would provide new strategic options and more playability due to new design? Some maps have noticably better designs in their specific areas wondering how awesome would be this project.

I like the idea of a ”generic map” but I guess it would be WW2 themed? Like the flags are WW2 era and units WW2 era?
Otherwise there would have to be some extra flag collections and extra units in a directory that the mapmaker could use when constructing the map? And then the map maker should also edit the XML.
If it was only 1 theme/era and no extra hidden stuff for mapmakers, it could also be cool. Then everyone could set up their map in “edit mode” and share with friends

I mean making just the map itself and allowing/encouring the others making their scenarios. The most important thing is territories should be divided perfectly to be suitable for any kind of major conflicts in history. Example scenarios;
Modern Day, War on Terror, War on Drug, Cold War, WW2, Inter-war, WW1, 1900, Napoleon Wars, Seven Years Wars, 6 days war etc...
For example some specific territories such as Low countries, Israel, seas around Europe and the Middle East, the Middle East,Papua new Guinea, Eastern China, Germany etc should contain more territory per area than other territories. The rest is not much important even better making them as big as possible. There is absoultely no reason having Brazil or Australia more territory than Germany.

The "Domination" map was made exactly on this concept. I guess you believe it is not good enough.

It will be hard to make a map that can handle such disparate conflicts. I always like a new map, but it once you decide to exaggerate some areas you will need to decide which ones based upon some specific time.
