How to add to Big World Variations
-
I've been playing TripleA for over a decade now, and have only just now started to get into map making. I've created a variation of Small's variation for Big World (under the Big World Variations download). Is there a step by step guide somewhere as to how I'd go about uploading it so that it is downloadable by anyone, either as a sub variant of Big World Variations or as its own map?

@thehobbesian For now, you may be best off posting a download link and then I will post it. The process is finicky, so unless you intend to create many scenarios, @beelee or I will post.

yea need to make a github repo and add your map there. Then it can be uploaded to triplea.
Current guide outdated but is still helpfull.
https://forums.triplea-game.org/topic/484/how-to-add-your-map-to-triplea-in-game-downloads?page=1@Frostion one being the the most detailed. There have been some changes though but I think it gives the github repo info.
Anyway, some folks working on a updated guide. Currently discussed here

Hi folks! Thanks for getting the map up on the download menu. My groups has really been enjoying it. I made a small balance adjustment to the map and was wondering how I should go about getting it pushed to the live version available in the game. Let me know what I can do. Thanks again for all of your help!

@thehobbesian I will update it.

@rogercooper Changed the version number. You should be able to update it using the downloader once the change is accepted. You could also remove the mod and download it again.

I couldn't find the repo in triplea-maps. So can he just update his repo and then do a PR with the new version number in the yaml ? His repo doesn't need to be part of triplea-maps ?
Anyway, it's merged.
@thehobbesian this is what you need to change in the yaml. The pencil icon will allow you to edit it. I believe anyone can but not 100% certain on that.
You can see Roger did it here
Edit
Also, as Roger stated, you can just redownload the map once the repo has been updated. The yaml just lets people know there is a new version.Edit 2
@thehobbesian I DL'd it but don't know if it's the new version or not. There's really no easy way to tell. I add a notification at game start saying what version and the date it was first uploaded.I also document it in the changelog in the Game notes.
Edit 3
OK it looks like the latest. This is your last commit and here it is in the Game Notes
