If this is to encourage registering, I'm feeling this is too punitive towards banned users.

I think this change was made because of the extensive scraping that happend yesterday. (brought the forum down)
Its an attempt to protect the website while figuring out how something like this can be prevented in the future. -
@xxXEddieXxx I don't know what happened or what "scraping" means, but thanks for the information (that this is most likely intentional but temporary).
