World War 2010

Hi,
I really like this map "World War 2010" but AI doesn't repair industrial complex damage. I did some manual editing to try to compensate but it still influences the AI purchase decisions. I would really like to see more creative maps like this! I really enjoy real world maps with educational as well as theoretical real-world political scenarios such as this one. Unfortunately the repair dysfunction really hurts the gameplay. Is this hard to fix? Props to whoever made this map. I'm also a big fan of "classic iron blitz: cold war". I would love to see more variations of these two maps. Also, does anyone have any suggestions for alternative style maps like these that can be completed in a day or two? Thanks. -

I am not sure why the factories are not being repaired in World War 2010. The repair rules look correctly implemented. Which AI are you using?

The map version is 1.3.0 dated May 29, 2010. The engine version is 1.9.0.0.13066

@pact_of_plastic Are you using the Hard AI or the Fast AI? See if you have the same issue with the other AI.

I use hard AI but tried against Fast AI and with the same results. I even tried reinstalling completely with removing the previous downloaded maps from my documents folder. I've tried many times using edit mode bombing damage. I'm also 100% positive the same thing happens with regualar bomber damage not a result of edit mode. I've included this pic showing that countries that can afford a new industrial complex will purchase a new one rather than repair any damaged ones. Countries that can't afford a new IC simply buy nothing. I'd like to make sure we're talking about the same map too.

@pact_of_plastic Even though the Iron War map at the moment has some AI issues, I have seen the AI repair damaged factories, spending PUs doing it. This is observed in prerelease versions of TripleA though, not the release version that you are playing.

I can't seem to repair my own factories on this map either. So it might be an xml issue? From what I know of repairing, the xml looks right, so I am guessing I don't know enough!

I noticed that you can't even change the damage level with the edit mode.
You could easily remove strategic bombing from the game entirely by removing <option name="isStrategicBomber" value="true"/> from Bomber.

So the only thing i can find different from the standard ww2v3 map is this area

The standard map just has 'factory' where this one has 'factory_hit' . Could that be the problem?

That did it, can someone update the map? or do we have to find the original creator? Also might be worth adding victory conditions if it is getting tweaked. Can someone test paratroopers tech with it too? I feel like it didn't work for me, or i didn't do it right.

@ff03k64 That should not have a caused a failure. You should submit a bug report.

This is a pretty cool map as is and has lots of potential. I would love to see some work done on it or even to see alternative versions of it. WW2 maps are pretty played out and there aren't any very good alternative medium sized maps. There is a pretty annoying AI fault where SCO-CHINA sends it's navy around attacking neutrals that could be addressed greatly improving the map.

You should go modify it. You can do a lot just with the edit mode.

@RogerCooper Thanks for the map suggestion. I'm not sure how I missed this one but it's looks pretty cool at a glance with unique units and layout. I'm looking forward to trying it out. As for map editing, I've never been good with any coding though I didn't know you could do much with edit mode. I'll look into it.

@RogerCooper what do you mean by failure? When I hear that, I think the map crashes, which isn't what is happening, at least not for me. It is just a failure to being able to repair.
Where do we put bug reports? Is an xml edit a bug report situation?

I also like a lot this map, but when trying to game it people said it has many problems and bugs. Could be great if can be fixing as a normal map... Thanks forwardly
