I'm guessing theRtl
is supposed to be artillery.Standard OOL A&A Anniversary Edition:
Standard-OOL for the attacker in land battles: Inf,Rtl,
Arm, Ftr, Bmb
Standard-OOL for the defender in land battles: Inf,Rtl,
Arm, Bmb, Ftr -
Hi Delitium & Prastle, It sound good as you explain and think it’s more interesting and fair to all when gaming both Axis & Allies and showing to be a real Champion of the game, additionally it allowed not to go down in moral after losing just one game and go out with no chance (as could be for bad lucky dice game, some minor errors or so on). TOC will be longer but, what’s the hurry?

@Raville - I hear you. I think that that we will indeed follow a double-elimination strategy, so that everyone is guaranteed at least two games. With a double-elimination strategy, and an associated winners and losers bracket, people will also be naturally matched with people in their own skill level. Additionally, the bidding process ensures that, if you really want to play either the Axis or the Allies, you can certainly adjust your bid to do so. Bidding, and the strategy behind it, is a VERY critical part of the game, and demonstrates one's skill and knowledge of what units are important in which critical territories at the beginning.
So, just to address your point about playing one game of each with the same opponent, the problem is this -- let's say that, for purposes of discussion, you are the #1 player in the tournament in terms of skill and experience, and I am #2. If we were to be randomly matched together in Round 1, then one of us would be eliminated in the first round. However, in the double-elimination version, one of us would be subsequently placed in the losers bracket, and one would continue in the winners bracket. Then, if we are both indeed strong players, then it is likely that we'll play again in the finals, but with plenty of games thereafter, which is more fair, and appropriate.
So, while I like the concept of being forced to play each side, you can always adjust your bid to do so, and this is a critical part of the game which I want to ensure that we keep in mind.
Lastly, while most of the people in this list play live, there are a few that I know that play PBEM only. As with other ToCs, PBEM is the default, unless both players agree to play live. Playing 2-3 games by PBEM could take 2-3 months for Round 1, forcing the tournament to last over a year with 5 rounds (given 16 players). I'd really like to launch one of these tournaments every quarter or at least every 6 months.
OK, hope this helps to understand my thought process. Please feel free to email me at 5683deltium@gmail.com if you would like to chat further.
Cheers, Deltium

Hi All - hope you are all having a good Holiday season! I am aiming to launch this tournament on January 10th, in order to allow everyone to get back and settled into real life after the holidays.
As we have more than 16, I will establish a qualifying round for a few players, and the overall tournament will be double-elimination as previously indicated.
Please let me know if you cannot play, and please also review the rules, and let me know if you have any questions.
Cheers, Deltium
