@lafayette I am fine with using triplea_map.yaml. But it should be noted if the maps page is no longer being updated.
There are problems with the in-game downloader, but new maps can be added.

@lafayette we doing office hours this sunday? i should be around can post to the axisaliies sub if we want to do it

@LaFayette
Options are;- Update it, to dynamically show the 300+ maps in the map repository.
- A static web page show casing say 4 maps/periods showing that TripleA is not just about WW2.
- Remove the page completely.
Considering the low traffic, I favour removing the page completely as
https://triplea-game.org/
could be updated to better show off TripleA. -

Indeed, the group got quite adapt at using that configuration file. It should be good news to know that YAML file is just obsolete in 2.7. The support server reads maps out of the repositories directly, mooting the need for the YAML file entirely, it's a step that map makers will be able to skip going forward.
There are problems with the in-game downloader, but new maps can be added.
Could you add some details? I'm very interested to know what specifically you are seeing. I'm stretched thin, the exact pointers is helpful so I don't try to fix additional issues and not the main problem you're seeing.

Yes! Agenda is to show the new infrastructure for controlling bots. It's become significantly easier to add/remove them, lots of automation. Very importantly, the needed server config and redeployments is all in a pretty decent place now (though I do need to configure bots to get their maps, but overall the server side is in good shape now)

@thedog, appreciate the response, reasonable option list. I suspect new comers, the very few that look at that page, might not have context to know the page is not being updated. I tend to agree that one way or another something should happen, either removal to clean it up, or enhance it in one way or another.
AI tooling is strong enough now that someone less technical might be able to make good headway into re-skinning the page, to go more the static direction or to re-invent the page otherwise. Linking to the maps org feels like something of a minimum. Certainly a bit of a limbo situation for the moment.

@LaFayette
New issue on latest version 2.7.15447
https://github.com/triplea-game/triplea/issues/14283 -
-
These updates should be live now:
-
created an automation that will fetch the list of maps from the 'support-server', gets a live list, every hour and updates the website. Support-server has 66 maps on it right now, that'll grow as we work a couple issues. Should reach our full 180 some soon..
-
reworked the HTML a bit, the maps page displays a good bit cleaner now

Couldn't help myself and updated the front page too:

@lafayette the os icons arent very visible not sure if they were even there before.
i think the mobile view could use a little help but im not sure i ever looked at the old one on mobile

-
@ubernaut yeah, those are new. Look good on a dark background. Agree hard to see on light
-
@lafayette my browser is in dark mode currently
-
@ubernaut It is showing incomplete mods that should not be displayed.
-
@rogercooper yeah it’s also cut off at n we noticed that today during office hours

-
Updates:
-
several website tweaks, should look better in general & on mobile where the nav is now a proper nav
-
the maps listing running out is very sus. Beyond known issues (not all maps being indexed), that looks like a new one. Plus side, once we fix the server side of that issue, the page will be fixed automatically within an hour.
