@kurtkafka Yeah the tab view is not a very user friendly system.
I have worked out a system for having the new Tech Tree embedded into the map for GD. So if I can get it working properly it should be very helpful.

What do you think about Tandem Teams in TWW?
Tandem meaning, you split up the lands (e.g. 2players Axis, one plays Russia and USA, the other plays GB and China), and you can coordinate, but only openly in the thread where the other team can read it.

@gully I'd be up for it and we discussed it a bit in this thread: https://forums.triplea-game.org/topic/635/looking-for-pbem-players-for-tww-2-8-0-3. The key would be finding 4 committed players and be able to divide them into 2 relatively balanced teams experience wise.

@hepps Yeah modifying your, manual frequently is probably cumbersome since it's pdf and adding one line may shift all subsequent information in a undesirable way. Maybe just include the updates in normal game notes via xml. As a temporary solution of course until your ready to tackle the pdf again.
I am working on some ideas for a functional tech tree on the map as well for Big World 3. Not sure if I will use it in the end. But I'd be happy to collaborate on your efforts to include this type of functional tech tree on the map. Note, by functional I mean, it won't just display the same thing at all times. I envision something that can be manipulated by players and as a by product displays all tech information.

When i was asking about the tech tree, THEE most important thing to know is the state of logistics. cause it determines with how many fighters one can scramble. The battle calc cannot see it and it's a real game breaker if you are misinformed when making your decicisions.
ot: is someone willing to introduce me to pbem or pbf?

@kurtkafka Well, logistics is important but I'd argue that fighter range is even more important as missing where some fighters can reach can be game changing. The latest TWW version now has unit icons that show which units have been upgraded by techs. Glad to help you setup a PBF/PBEM game.

@general_zod Yes the manual was created as a paint.net image... so changes are now near impossible.
But you live you learn.
Next game will have a manual that is much easier to update.

Hi,
where can I get the new Version 3.0.0.0 of TWW?
And: TWW does not start anymore. When I use 2.8.0.5, I cannot start "Local game". I can select the players (Human, Easy AI, and so on), but when I press "Play", the window disappears for a half a second and then appears again - but no TWW.
When I choose another map like "Big World: 1942", this starts.Best

@loveplayingaaa TWW v3.0 isn't released yet so v2.8.0.5 is the latest. You need a version of the latest pre-release of TripleA to play 2.8.0.5 as it uses some new engine features: https://github.com/triplea-game/triplea/releases/tag/1.9.0.0.11996

@redrum Can you estimate, when TWW 3.0.0.0 will be released? I am not sure, if it makes sense to start a game using the old version 2.8 und a few days later 3.0.0.0 will be published. Normally we play this game for 3 weeks.

@loveplayingaaa Probably not in the next few weeks. There is still considerable amount of XML updates that need done and testing of those changes.

I am not sure, if this the right place for pulishing bugs, but here we go:
- german heavy bombers cannot bomb railways, but allied can do.
- politics: US spend 5 in order to make Spain and Sweden allies. Now they are axis-members and at war with US.
- when "advanced mechanization" has been developed, mech inf gets +2 attack and not +1 as stated in manual.
- the green half-circles in the manual for advanced anti-tank and advanced anti-air are not correct, must be green full circles.

This is a good place for bugs that are in the map.

I will re-check the XML. There may have been some inconsistencies as I was fairly undecided while creating these newer features.

Do you have a game save where this happened. As far as I know all the political stuff works perfectly.

Since @redrum has so graciously managed to add the requirement for Airfields to allow intercepting...https://forums.triplea-game.org/topic/491/require-airbase-to-intercept ...this feature will also be included into the new version.

another bug:
advanced fighters cannot escort bombers on strategic bombing missions. The advanced fighters will attack the ground units (tank, inf), but not escort.
How can I attach a save game here? -
