@panther Thanks for the reply. Interesting read about the new dice server but I'm wondering if there is any news regarding the testing that was mentioned. I'm presuming that it is an improved version of the current dice server and also wondering when it is likely to be introduced?
-
@scousemart When you try it out you won't notice any difference compared to the standard one. The improvements, IIRC, are more or less code-wise and regarding integration. I am not aware of any news, but maybe @ssoloff can give us an update, when he finds time.

@panther @scousemart ATM, both the staging and production MARTI dice servers are running identical code, so, as @panther noted, there shouldn't be any difference using one versus the other. I'm not aware of any MARTI changes/improvements in the pipeline that would be deployed to the staging server any time soon. Therefore, for the foreseeable future, I don't believe there is a need for active testing of the staging server.

@ssoloff any ideas on eta of new lobby just curious?
-
@prastle Sorry, no idea. You'll have to ask @LaFayette. I haven't been following the infrastructure changes.

@ssoloff np
but I could use some help eliminating a bot from every server so hi mem maybe disappears. remote stop and admin stop fails. They relaunch. -

Further in regard to this, I'm wondering if for a PBEM/F game, if I were to use the BETA dice server, would my opponent also have to use the same BETA dice server or could they use the regular dice?
Also, I am assuming that I would have to register to use the BETA dice, in the same way I registered to use the standard dice? -
@scousemart correct scouse

@prastle Correct x2?
