@redrum Don't count me out completely. After I complete some current projects, I will reconsider.

@rogercooper
Scenario: The Grand War
Download: The experimental tab in the repository
Description WW2 technology in a fictional world
Good Points- A well-described parallel world
- Nations differ greatly in position and capability
- Maintenance and fuel costs
- Reasonable map size (190 areas) makes for fast turns (AAG40 has 333 areas)
Bad Points
- AI has trouble with some of the special capabilities
- R&D technologies are not described
A scenario definitely worth a try. Once the R&D is described, this should be move to good,
-
@Elreigh See post above for some feedback.
@RogerCooper Probably good to @ the map maker if they have a forum account. Agree that the AI struggles with some of the unique abilities and techs. Regarding R&D technologies, do you mean the technology frequency? As the actual techs themselves do have a decent description.
-
@redrum You are right, I missed the descriptions of technology
-
@rogercooper
Game Blood and Iron
Description World War II on a world map
Download Blood_and_IronGood Points
- Interesting looking map
- Moderate map size makes for fast play
- High unit costs decrease unit density
Bad Points
- No victory conditions
Nothing exceptional, but worth checking out
-
@rogercooper Never really understood why that has never been in download list, but my issue with it, if I recall correctly, is having a single player for all the minors. I just cannot accept that Finland, Romania and Thailand are the same country.

It is a bit odd, but is it any odder than US & China being the same country?

@rogercooper Name Age_Of_Sturlungs_0.0.3
Description13th Century Icelandic Civil War. I added victory conditions
DownloadGood Points
- Unusual historical setting
- Pieces evocative of the Icelandic context (like Rockthrowers)
- The volcanos and mountains of central Iceland restrict movement
Bad Points
- The sides are similar in strength, position and capabilities
- The game uses a basically standard WW2 approach, with no effort made to reflect medieval warfare in general and a war of small raids in particular
- Most units are basically minor variations of infantry.
Worth playing once for historical interest.
-
@rogercooper as a minor thought. Do you mind if I add all links that you post to the top of the thread? Great job btw! Example …

Yes. For example, I would prefer making Finland and Romania part of Germans and Thailand part of Japanese, instead of having a single player for about whatever minors. Even only a minor for both Finland and Romania together would feel unacceptable, or at least worse than just giving them to Germans. I'm even very unconfortable with those cases in which you have, like, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria as a single country; rather better as just part of Germans.

Scenario World War II v5 1942 2nd Ed. (High Production Mod)
Download
Description World War II v5 with higher production valuesGood Points
- The higher production values make for a lively game
- The balance is better than the original World War II v5
Bad Points
- None really, this is solid scenario
-
@rogercooper Scenario Big World April 1940
Download
Description World War 2 in 1940 using the Big World map. I added victory conditionsGood Points
- Lots of nations
- Straightfoward, playable scenario
Bad Points
- No political rules, so US & Soviet Union are active from the start.
- Too many nations
-
Hi Roger;
Could you add my mod to your scenario list. Here is the map https://www.sendspace.com/file/15ljl7
thanks.
-
@schulz SendSpace will not allow a download without an account. Why not use Google Drive, which requires no account?
-
@rogercooper You don't need any account to download this or any files from SendSpace. Tho, now that we are on GitHub, I wouldn't advise using SendSpace anymore to start with: just get your stuff in your GitHub profile.
I always disliked SendSpace linking in forum, as, then, you end up with all these broken links, thus mostly pointless thread, that remain there as sort of trash. I used SendSpace a lot, but preferably for private use (lobby chat...), rather than forum linking.
I wonder if there is a way to freely upload heavy stuff in a place where it doesn't get ever deleted, to avoid filling the forum with eventually broken links? -

Google drive. Github. Dropbox. Google is your friend.
-
@alkexr I meant without needing an account or any kind of registration.
-
@cernel With google drive you need an account to upload, but not to download. Why use SendSpace?
