@Hepps Budapest is closer to Vienna than Transylvania. However, Budapest should not start with a factory. The Hungarian government opposed the war and had not prepared for war. Why does this thinly populated Carpathian mountains receive the same income as industrialized Bohemia, the heart of the Austrian arms industry.

Yes as stated, trying to fit Budapest into the existing map was a challenge given that I was trying not to have it adjacent to Vienna.

Bohemia should have likely been valued at 4. Will likely swap the value with Transylvania which is currently valued at 4.

I am all but certain there will be lots of changes once this is ready for play.

I think this is the only missing one @redrum

If you add this to the TWW folder we should be all good.

Well after finally having a day off... (from real work anyways)... some real progress has been made...

            Shit is getting real.png

We have a functioning map with seasonal effects already working.

I think if you look closely at the name of the picture... you will know how I truly feel. 😃

@Black_Elk Team effort. @redrum has done a tremendous ammount of work... I am just far more excitable and have to share my enthusiasm. 😃 The term 'kid in a candy store' comes to mind.

@Hepps Not absolutely sure, but I believe that both in WW1 and WW2 there was not a seagoing-ships waterway between lake Ontario to the sea, thus Montreal was as far inland as ships from the Atlantic could get. I recall this being the main reason why Montreal was so much more important, back then, but be sure to verify if I'm correct or not.

@Cernel this map would seem to indicate that all the great lakes were connected to montreal via waterways as of about 1918:

Really while the waterways were not capable of accomedating military ships at the time... the design is meant to allow for some creative use of protected harbours for America or the British if things go badly.

Since the US starts the game as Neutral and could in all reality stay that way for a long period... it may be important to have a safe place to create naval... especially if their entrance to the war is met with significant submarine presence or surprise attacks resulting from unrestricted warfare.

Is it just to me that yellow and white colours are eye tiring upon nations?

@Schulz Generally, brighter colors are more tiring for the eyes which is why some people prefer dark backgrounds to white backgrounds for many applications. For example, the neon green usa color that was in the original NML map tended to be very bright and tiring for the eyes. So less about the color and more about the brightness.

With the dark storm clouds of war on the horizon, it might be time to look at how prepared we are for the impending hostilities... heir Kaiser.

Yes, I am pretty much accustomed to standart v3/revised unit types, I would have zero idea what should really I buy. I would like to see a guide in notes about that.

@Hepps I love the machine gun image, and wish there would be images for machine gunners for ww2 too. Also, for consistency, maybe it should be "Machine Gunner", or the other should be "Storm Troops" or the first "Infantryman".

Sadly no sweet image for the cavalry with those crazy lances... I guess no cool cavalries ww1 set then.😟

I like the fact that gas gives negative support to enemy, tho it would be cooler if it would reduce the advantage troops gain from trenches and pill boxes (don't like this name for ww1), as it actually had this main effect (gas concentrates down the trenches), while the current dynamic would make those defensive supports relatively stronger, by lowering the basis by 1.

It's lame that the choice will be merely binary, either 1 or 0 gas units per attack, tho I know that currently it is pretty much this or no real area effect.

On this matter, actually since Revised onwards, I think that it may be better, on several levels, if the artillery support would work as lowering the defence power of your enemy's units, instead of giving bonus to your own units. Like, I think I would like better if the regular Revised etc. artillery would have been 2/2 and -1 defence to 1 enemy infantry (also the armour could have had something like this, since, at the end, it is mostly an armoured self-propelled artillery in a turret or such).

I threw that cav unit together for the first great war game on the fly. It's got some charm to it, but I agree a lancer unit icon would be badass! I propose this iconic image for the German one... Shrunk down but still hella legit, and Vader-esque! hehe

Badass work so far man, truly
