Change of email

I seem to have run into an edge case.
I created this account with GitHub. Unfortunately, my email address isn't the one I'd like to use for the forum. However, my username is also too short.
Could I get my email changed manually?

@0az You can change that. Just access "Edit Profile" from the menu that appears when klicking on your profile image on the top right of the screen.

@Panther I think a delete/recreate is the only way I'll be able to get it changed.

But is this an actual problem with the forum, partially and inconsistently allowing too short names? Can anything be done to avoid this appening again or should this be reported somewhere?

While Github allows for 3-character-names, this NodeBB-forum usually accepts names starting from 4 characters. The inconsistency lies in the registration process when using Github-credentials for registration here, as in that case the minimum character requirement obviously is not checked, as I assume.
When registering independently from other credentials, this forum would not allow 3-character names.

@Panther Then, in my opinion, it would be advisable the TripleA lobby accepts no less than 4 characters, as well, since I'm under the impression that most users like to have the same name there. I don't know what's the current limit.

@Cernel Alternatively we could reduce the minimum character requirement for usernames to "3" for our forum.
This is an administrative setting. It is "4" at the moment.However I agree consistency over different platforms would be desireable.

i was thinking to be more up with "the times" and appear "cooler" with the young kids i should become "the artist formerly known as SilverBullet",,, or simply "SB"!

@0az I suppose changing your email-address might work, once we reduce the minimum character requirement. So maybe just hold on until this will be decided.

I also lowered the minimum character requirement for now to 3 characters. Please change your email ASAP and report back once you're done and I'll change it back until we figure out a general rule.
