[Open/Need More Info] Guests joining games in progress crash them
@Cernel if the people aren't updating now, a new engine version won't make that any easier unless as @prastle says the lobby prevents people from joining when they aren't using the current version, in fact, it would tend to make things worse.
@ubernaut As I said, I'm almost sure this issue currently happens also in case everyone is using the current stable and, yes, you will not be able to use the current stable (or any previous releases) to join the lobby of the next (yet to be) stable.

@Cernel to be more accurate, i thought that's the way it worked before but for some reason this thread unconvinced me of that.
@ubernaut The old lobby is generally kept running for a few weeks to a month or two so peeps can finish old games when we release a new non-compatible stable. It's all good
I suspect this could be people with the latest pre-release joining the latest release. IMO we should probably update it so that 1.10 clients do not join the 1.9 lobby.
Sadly, I have to inform that this (rather major) problem is all the same with TripleA 2.1 (I'm hosting a game with the 20613 development version of it).
It happened to me the exact same way less than half a hour ago, and I reported the two main issues (frozen game and inability to save) here:
All or most complaints of lost games in automated hosts happening on the lobby may be caused by this problem.
