Panpal (Axis +9 ) defeats Hammond (allies) in a 25 turn challenging game. Germany placed the bid on Africa and bought the second bomber to put pressure on the allied fleet. However, they lost it in round 2 attacking the UK carrier in the African sore. Russa and UK traded aggressively against Germany which put a lot of pressure early on the game. US bought a large number of trannies and by round 4 they had already 9 of them, which enabled them to take SOuthern Europe and Ukraine. They left a small stuck in Libya ill defended so Germany eliminated it to alleviate some pressure. Then US build a factory in Ukraine so a long siege of Germany began. Germans managed to hold buying as much inf as they could and receiving the valuable aid of Japan's fighters. In the meantime, Japan has taken all available islands and had already built two IC on Asia. They managed to defend Egypt till turn 7 and about half of Africa for turns to come, thus providing Germany valuable income. At the same time, they kept harassing US in Alaska forcing them to divert troops there. Round 12 was a turning point Germany finally stack Balkans threatening Ukraine, which was occupied mainly by tanks. Allies decided not to reinforce it properly so Germans were able to take it with so many troops that made a counter attack unfeasible. From this point forward, Axis started to get a little bit stronger every turn, allies tried a variety of tricks and manoeuvres to shake things up but they failed and thus surrendered when a strong Japan army was about to stack Kazakh and begin the siege of Moscow. Overall I want to congratulate Hammond for an excellent game. I would like to wish him good luck to the rest of the tournament. I am attaching the file 0_1524988380787_hammondtoc.tsvg

Straha (Axis +10) defeats AdamF (Allies).
With the 10 bid, I placed an artillery in FIC to help J get a quick start in Asia. Allies committed a fair amount of R & UK effort to set J back, neutralizing that bonus. But with R having less forces facing G, WR had to be abandoned early on, which led to a "Fortress Europe" situation, preventing UK / US from ever gaining a foothold in Europe. G put enough pressure on R to allow J to bounce back quickly. Axis abandoned AE around round 5, giving all Afr income to allies for a few turns. The continued G pressure on R, and the ever growing J tank stack forced R to abandon Caucus, which J took on round 7.But R was nowhere near done, having big stacks of both US & UK fighters in moscow, offering great defense as well as a threat on axis fleet in SZ34, and the never ending threat of fighter support for an allied smack of a one of G's stacks in europe. R's income was also still good, J was focused almost entirely on the southern path to caucus via persia (with factories in FIC & India), and so with minimal commitment of R ground troops, and well-timed US/UK air strafes of lone forward J inf, R was able to continue producing around 6-7 units per turn, further adding to the Moscow defense. At the same time, US was marching strong across Afr, and eventually put some direct pressure on J in persia. Axis was able to counter this by using a lot of G troops to defend caucus, while the J tank stack was sent to Afr, eventually breaking the US forward push.
Around the same time J started their Afr push US began building a pacific fleet. J still had their original fleet intact, minus the starting sub, and axis also had a German fleet in SZ34, consisting of trans, sub, DD, BB (from original baltic & med ships). So J was able to continue building tanks in cauc, and finish off afr, while also building a few more fighters and a 3rd AC to fend off the US fleet.
With the J shift to afr/Pac, G began building primarily tanks, and was able to stack Ber, Se, Kar, & Arch, setting up for a hit on moscow. At this point (round 10-11) the time to play expired, and the game was judged in favor of Axis. AdamF played a great game, allies were just unable to overcome G's early advantageous position. Looking forward to a rematch!

Stroid (allies) defeats Dirty_Tirpitz (axis, 8 bid)
Early dice swings the game heavily in allies favor. Allies just kept pushing and dice kept rolling. Japan spread nicely against russia but then allies stacked EE and russia started pushing japan back. GG WP!

Deltium (Allies) defeats Blasherke (Axis + 10) in Round 18. First and foremost, Blasherke is a professional and very friendly player. Axis purchased a transport on G1 + 2 IPCs for Germany, and quickly secured an Axis presence in the Med. Due to the closure of the Suez, this became a potential liability though, as Allied navy and air were building in SZ 12, threatening an attack, which Germany responded to by buying additional navy. This allowed an opening for the Allies to stack W. Europe in Round 8, putting pressure on S. Europe, which fell in Round 10. The Japanese, on the other hand, were moving toward Russia swiftly, and the UK needed to assist. Ultimately, the Allied units held the line and the Axis forces could not advance materially. A good and deep game for the both of us. Game file attached.

bayder (Axis +9) defeated panpal (Allies) by surrender in round 11. The game was played mostly PBEM, with a few turns online. The file is attached (please note that in UK1, panpal had file issues and had to recreate the combat based on the MARTI dice results, hence the strange edits.)Thanks, again, to panpal for a very fun, challenging, and cordial game. And big thanks to Deltium for running yet another excellent tournament. Looking forward to the next one!
