Website Improvements

Yes the default has changed. The look of the forum is now white and bright. The new blueish banner is primarily colored and designed to fit the new white look. This is practical when we have to show unit pictures or other art stuff to each other here on the forum. Also it looks a lot like the style og Github and the TripleA Website. But of course users are always free to change their personal skin. This is how the default looks like:

@prastle I don’t know why we don’t see the same, but sometimes I have had to log out and clear internet browser temporary files to get to see the changes I made. Or maybe try refreshing browser?

@Frostion yea I'm not gettin the blue banner either. I find my default doesn't save unless I leave and come back.

Well just came back and it was on default. I saved to Darkly though and it stayed on it, which it didn't do before.

@Frostion @RoiEX One thing it would be nice to change is the appearance of the avatar in the recent topics on home page. Atm it shows the avatar of the topic opener. It would be better if the avatar of the last poster in a topic was shown. Ideas?

@prastle I don’t think this is possible, or at least not to my knowledge. I think this NodeBB forum software works like the work with the TripleA engine, so maybe issues and requests is supposed to be posted here:

A question: Is this forums software always up to date? Do we need to update somehow if the developers implement new options? (I am not talking about the forum plugins, as they clearly can be updated manually some times. I updated three just the other day, so now 0 is “out of date”.)

@prastle Didn't even notice that the update was released... I will update the forum Software tomorrow, which will enable us to implement the fully working PBF feature...

@Frostion The nodeBB software needs to be updated manually... I'm basically logging into the server and running sudo service nodebb stop && sudo git pull && sudo nodebb upgrade && sudo service nodebb start which will bring the nodebb software to the latest version...

Nice Another question: I added an e-mail link in the bottom of the category list / start page. I thought if someone not engaged with the TripleA community visited this website and wanted to contact us, then they could contact via this email. Is this the email adress we should link to? Or is there another?

@Frostion that email is the one i opened to get us going we could use that or prob best if @RoiEX gives an email he would like to use. That way so admin separate. Perhaps a new email accessible by all admins?

@Frostion after looking around and at all. I believe you are correct frost. The only other option is recently replied for the active users slot. Maybe we can request a new widgit that pulls from online? @RoiEX

@RoiEX When you click on the "Website Improvements" in the Recent Topics of homepage, it sends you to the first post of the topic. I suggest this be changed to sending you to the last post, instead, as per how it worked in the old War Club forum. Since it says something like "20 minutes ago", it seems logical it would send you to that post, it is referring to, not to the first one, made at a previous time.

When I click “categories” > “Announcements “ > “Website improvements” then I go to the last post.

But yes, when I pres a topic the “recent topics” I also go to the first post. Don’t think this can change as it is the “topic” that the link looks for. But on my screen there is always a pop-up saying “Click here to go to last post”. Maybe that popup was made because of a request like yours.

@prastle Yes. I have seen that. But, right now I am on my phone and I don't see this option. But it is still great that phones are supported

Actually, I dont think there are many limits to how a NodeBB website can be set up in regards to layout, features and stuff. But this would require us to make our own custom NodeBB "theme", and this would again require one of us to have advanced knowledge in html/css coding and a lot of free time. Right now we "play it safe" using one of three (as I understand) themes that are still worked on by NodeBB devs (I think our theme is among their theme creations). I would think requesting features at the dev site would be the way to go. And if we give reasonable requests, that would benefit all websites, they might comply, for example "show last poster avatar instead of original poster".
