@general_zod You also may want to postpone this idea for a little bit. Since work on the UI is progressing nicely we might want to showcase our wears with all the bells and whistles we are adding.

Going back to old DB introduces some new problems, we are really limping along here. https://github.com/triplea-game/triplea/issues/2342 to track this state and coordinate a longer term fix, likely a patch will be applied to not read from old DB at all, and we'll upgrade lobby software once more.

Most of the bots are connected again, it's good to rejoin the lobby now.

red sun over china and warlords ffa dont work in the latest version, when i try to open either of them it loads for 2 seconds and then puts me back to the player menu

For example, if I click on Civil War in Download Maps (where you auto-install the maps, not the website), it takes 4 seconds to show the 400 pixels wide pic of the map, for me.
It just seems strange to wait 4 seconds to see such a small image, as in a broswer an image like that would take close to no time to display (and I recally it took close to no time before 1.9 too, in the old thing to auto install maps).

So, I was thinking, if it has to be so slow (or maybe it's just me), maybe you want to use JPG for all such pics, while you are doing it.

That's quite reasonable. Since cloud services are accessible and easy, I agree that we don't need to host these files 👍
