@alkexr Nice units! I was just wondering if there is a fast way of changing the color and size of the units?

@Greg-Anderson There is no convenient way to change the size unless you don't mind if it's blurry. You can change the color with flood fill tool in e.g. paint.net, just make sure to use global fill mode and don't forget about the half-red pixels. I think I also have a script that can change unit colors en masse, but it isn't user friendly (i.e. I have no idea how it works anymore).

@Cernel I gave up on trying to give it a good descriptive name after twenty minutes. "Monotonic" feels too much like "boring".

@alkexr Technically, those are outlined silhouettes with a shadow.

          "Outlined Shadowed Silhouetted"?

@redrum @LaFayette I definitely believe you should change the definition from the current "monochromatic". That is really not definitive, since most TripleA unit images are monochromatic (practically, most of them except a few maps like 270BC or Napoleonic Empires).

EDIT: Well, not really outlined, I think, since there is a (white) space between the silhouette and the (black) outline, which, therefore, is not really an outline, I suppose, actually, but I don't know how that would be properly defined.

@Greg-Anderson There is a hue shift property that was brought in for 2.0; you will be able to specify different colors from just one set of unit images in map.properties.

            See:

@LaFayette Hue shift isn't ideal in this case, because the white highlight is supposed to stay white.

If that map property would actually shift the hue (only), white would remain white, of course.

Does anyone have recommendations for fantasy map makers? I'm looking to generate a map for my warlords style game. There seem to be a quite a variety of tools that exist online, and I'm not familiar with any of them, so was wondering if anybody had knowledge of them and how well they work/easy to use. I'd need it to generate the map of a suitable size and graphics type that I can then edit with GIMP into something to use for the triplea map.

The map needn't be anything fancy; for the typical warlords style map it just needs a bunch of cities/city locations (I'm planning around 30-40), plus some terrains (I probably won't add terrain features at first, maybe later if there's interest), and I'd end up with 120 or so territories.

Well I started with a map I liked and picked this one
                    https://forums.triplea-game.org/topic/2399/settlers-age-of-tribes-official-thread

Then spent months learning how to code and manipulate the txt files.

Having played some of the Warlord games, they dont translate well into the TripleA style and you will have to compromise with how far you go.

Personally I would try to code it first, then do the art.

Having produced a few scenarios(ie coding), I am now looking into the art side of TripleA and looked at Gimp, Pinta, Krita and Paint.net and went with the last one. I am now just learning how to make baseTiles and reliefTiles.

Would the adjective just describe them well?
