@mattbarnes In that case, if Google rejected to send your mails, you would receive sort of an error message sent to you by Google, that would (more or less cryptically) explain the reason for rejection. Did you receive any related message? Maybe check your spam folder. On the recipient's side, a common reason is that the storage is full. Depending on your opponent's mail provider there are sometimes ridiculously low storage capacities. Many users are totally unaware of these limitations. Another reason might be that your opponent maybe plays on a company's PC, and the company's mail server set-up started to filter out those mails/attachments. I doubt that a provider cares to reject *.tsvg files. But in the unlikely event a provider does, you can zip the *.tsvg to send out zip-files instead. Of course the opponent has to unzip the zip-file then, to use the *.tsvg file.

@numetalfan yea, so for now, you need to unzip it and put that folder in the downloadedMaps for it to work and delete the zip or 2 will show up.

@beelee If you were on Windows I would guess you have a PATH corruption. Googling Unix Path, it has the same PATH environment variable, so I would check it out.

@pafnus First my apologies, I get the feeling that English is not your primary language, also, you are not very good with computers. If I am understanding correctly you are trying to play the Big World map, so let's try unzipping the map. First try renaming your "downloadedmaps" directory to "holdfordownloadedmaps" then create a new "downloadedmaps" folder. Next open the big_world-master.zip file and drag the "big_world-master" folder inside to the new "downloadedmaps" folder. Once this is completed, rename the "big_world-master" folder to "big_world". Now start TripleA and see if you can play. Hope this is helpful. Cheers...

@beelee said in can you move the scroll bar to the top of the error message in git ?: @beelee ok I guess the arrow keys actually do work. I guess you have to click on the error before they do. That only took a few years to figure out lol Yes, that's it. I was just irritated a bit, when you said "git" but meant "Github". All good.

@captainjcook which 1942 version excactly do you talk about? Anniversary 1942? Play rolling dice or low luck? Play with any house rules or bidding? Play with national objectives? Play with research ? all that influences your strategy as Russia. So we need more information to advice you.

@ondis said: So I dont even know how I was able to load the bot one if its a different version but check this out: While maps have a 'version' XML attribute, it is unused. There is no versioning in the maps.

@returnradio An obvious fix would be having the initially neutral powers take sides through random events.

@poptech There are also the theatre games, Axis & Allies: Europe, Axis & Allies: Pacific and theatre games for the Global game. These are all in TripleA, but the first 2 are not completely supported.

Also, here is my recommendation for a stable 2.7 pre-release
    2.7.15256
    ▪ Faster than 2.5
    ▪ Technology tab split from players tab on to its own tab. (Really good for 1888a & Total World War as they have lots of Tech)
    ▪ Shows any map missing icons as a placeholder square icon.
    ▪ Shows on status bar the relationship (war, neutral, allied) of territories (Really good in FFA maps)

  • @LaFayette

heh heh I was surprised I got it to work myself 🙂

Yea I thought about going to 26.04 but it's pretty new, so decided stick with 24.04

and even though this isn't the right thread, my new install allows me to access the 2.5 lobby and the End Turn report shows up now.

So both of those were on my end.

  • That's impressive you got through to a working solution @beelee

FWIW; I have an "ansible" that does a linux desktop setup. You should be able to point an AI at it and ask "how do I configure git". The installer has a pretty complete list of steps for setup, an AI can crib from it:

    https://github.com/DanVanAtta/linux_setup

FWIW - I'm going to be playing around with Ubuntu 26.04 hopefully later today and will be exercising/testing that installer scripts (so, some README updates are likely to make it easier). I'm hoping Ubuntu 26.04 will fix the webcam on my laptop, hasn't work so far on prior Ubuntu's.

So yea follow the prompts so they can tell who you are and then you create a new token by going to your personal git avatar and

Settings → Developer settings → Personal access tokens

Be real deliberate when you do the token. If you're in a hurry just wait and do it some other time 🙂
