Lol I added that error message to the game. It is supposed to be more clear for users how to fix the problem. Did you check option 2?

Either way, it does not matter as PBF on the TripleA server does not work at the moment. You either have to choose PBEM and manually post the turn summary as pointed out by @beelee above, or you'd have to move to the Axis and Allies forum where you can use PBF.

Some of the stuff doesn't work right now. This is how @victoryfirst taught me to do it and I have done the same ever sense. 2-3 years now and it works for me. I'm on ubuntu fwiw but everyone else on windows. Idk if you on mac will bring in ubernaut but it should work regardless.

make sure both emails registered to the Dice server hit register takes you here https://dice.triplea-game.org/

Ignore all the other bullshit and fire up a game

So select game do the email shit make sure both emails registered and o h yea hit "test server" only need to do it once at game start, then you good to go.

Most people do a test turn in local mode then hit PBEM or Forum, they're basically interchangeable and do their final turn in pbem.

It'll say "Dice Server On "bottom right. When your turn is done you hit "Turn Summary" then ctrla ctrlc

Then save game ctrls

post the turn sumarry and saved game to your opponent at your game thread, we create a Game Thread here https://forums.triplea-game.org/category/45/play-by-forum

or you can send emails to each other

As far as the above error, make sure you had a capital "O" in your name. Idk but the error has it in lower case. Maybe it doesn't matter. Idk. Triplea will @ some names with upper case and then sometimes it comes up all in lower case

Just tried to go with the forum option and created a new post under play by forum (4402).

but when I try to Test post i received the following:

thank you both - i guess i have been trying to setup play by email. Is that harder to do versus by forum? I guess i'm still a bit unclear with PBEM. I don't assign a nation but we agree to it informally. So if I say I'm Russia I play my turn, hit done then Germany is up. So my friend plays but I can still move stuff around - is that working as designed or somehow I set it up incorrectly? Maybe I should try the forum route. Appreciate the openness. We started playing Axis and Allies in 1986 so that kinda dates me a bit.
