I can confirm your fix is working well, with our new The Shogun map, my cpu reaches 100% and its using up to 3GB when it needs to. In short it is running well.

@panther I'm using 2.5.22294 on Windows 10.
It defaults to C:\users\myusername\triplea\downloadedMaps and I'd like to save it to D:\triplea\downloadedMaps since D:\triplea is where the saved games are and where I installed the game itself.

I think I agree with everything written here. The notes seem to imply that it isn't allowed (the sentence about only legal rules being allowed besides the listed exceptions), but the notes could just be referring to the "Revised" ruleset. But at the end of the day its up to whomever is playing what the "rules" are anyways.

At this point we have decided (in the NWO game I am playing) to only allow "legal" moves in the engine and thus LHTR rules only apply for non-combat and placement. This just makes things "easier" (don't have to consider moves that the engine doesn't allow) and also better preserves the balance of the map as the differences between LHTR and Revised is not as large without this extra rule.

@glenn44bc you can still advertise your game in the lobby, including what "bot" you are in. a lot of players slap a "known" player and say "game?", then tell what bot they are in. and some people just set up a "bot" and wait for someone to join.

Hey @Cernel. Only time will tell. My understanding is any admin can edit the feature list post but unfortunately at this point I don't think anyone is really updating it or addressing items from it.

Hepps and I were working on some maps but other than that I think we both just got busy and aren't around as much any more. Good to hear you liked many of the features that were added.

So IDKY the Changer Alliance isn't showing up as Changer. But I just made it Axis and it seems to align correctly in the lobby now.

I guess it's not a huge issue as Relationships override everything. Just be nice if it lined up right for clarity.

Maybe an added line or two in the instructions explaining these mechanics would help.. but to keep my word, I made the donation and added to it for also having an ID-10-t error...

@silverbullet I would suggest the Anniversary Edition. It is reasonably well balanced and it is simpler and faster playing than the Global Game. If you are not experienced with the game, try the 1941 game to learn the system (or just play TripleA)

Regular nwo probably doesn't need a bid. At least it doesn't at high skill levels per the history of ladder games tuning it. It's possible it does at more medium skill levels. It's also possible there's some key move patterns or choices that aren't being utilized which would fix the issue, and that not enough of the good nwo players are still around to copy from.

I don't know about 5-nations at all, as I'm not sure it was ever subject to tight balance tuning.

Of course part of the point of a bid system is that you can use it regardless of others' opinions on the matter, and simply bid to find something that seems fair to both sides.

@deusastra I'm not 100% sure if bots can even be passworded. The 'server' password refers to how the bot is controlled via admin commands. I don't think it is even used anymore even.
