    @greatdane67 Which is your email provider? Did you use the email bound to this forum account? In the past there were sometimes problems with certain providers. Create a gmail-account and it should work.

    @willk_1230 There is no official guide to them. (Though it might be a worth-while endeavor down the road) Really a mapmaker should be explaining them in the map notes, but I have never seen it done by anyone. Which are confusing you? Perhaps I can help clear the air.

    @scousemart If you just need to view the notes outside of TripleA, then the new version of UBr may help. I have added an option to view the notes in version 1.0.4 See this thread for instructions You need to follow the instructions to see the notes clicking the link will not be sufficient. For those who loaded XMLs into UBr prior to version 1.0.4 you will need to reload those to see the notes.

    @rogercooper naw read top post. He wants to play an old save on a travelling laptop that never had that engine installed but he took his save with him. (not Hepps). Thus he just needs that engine installed on that laptop. (Did we even have an ai then ? ) hepps link will work for him if that is the case. https://github.com/triplea-game/triplea/releases/tag/1.3.2.3 As long as a new map dl is still compatible? alot of variables...

    @prastle right on. Well i finally got it to work with the new release and stable. Added the map but none of the hot keys work. Not even any of the old ones. ctrl s or b . Do I need to activate something somewhere ? Also the zoom is way different. Usually run at 75 had to go to 60 and lower units from 100 to 83. Action bar is wider too. Don't know if this is just a window thing or what, but it'd be nice to have the ctrl w/e buttons work Hmm...must just have needed time to warm up as they're working now. Don't understand it. Oh well there's a lot I don't understand. I'll quit buggin everyone now. Thanks for your help Guess i spoke too soon as it's not working now. Must be on my end somewhere since most use windows. Whatever i'm over it

    @rogercooper Another way to help the AI on maps with alliances is to modify the XML so the opposition has an extra member (2 vs 4) and give my ally a poor AI setting.

    Hey @JoshyPooh , can you please provide some more details: What are the specifications of your notebook? Especially the amount of RAM is interesting. What Operating System are your running (Windows, Linux or MacOS)? 32 or 64 bit? Do you have the latest Java 8 installed? Which TripleA-version are you trying? Is only a special map affected - or does it happen with every map? Does this occur everytime you run TripleA and try to go online or does it happen only with a special game? Do you get an error message? Please add as much details as possible. Thank you.

    @General_Zod Yeah, completely different. Check out https://github.com/triplea-game/triplea/issues/2554 should solve your issue. EDIT: If this doesn't solve your issue just search for other closed issues with the 'certificate' keyword. We're having those issues every once in a while because HTTPS is too good. For example: If your Anti Virus intercepts the connection to check for malicious content and doesn't properly hide it this error message is the result of a intercepted connection.

    @suriyan You can look at the xml file with a text editor (notepad will do if you are using windows os). Not to get to detailed, I added a territoryEffect to block SZ16 and a trigger to read the setting of the Map Option and remove the territoryEffect if needed. If you look at the xml you will see a few comments around the changes I made. Hope this helps. Cheers...

    To leave the apostrophe in the name, replace it with an underscore in the objectives file. Thus "Fading Light of V'landriel" becomes "Fading_Light_of_V_landriel".

    Also, adding an empty <technology></technology> section will remove the "Technology" tab.

    From what I remember, as Im not a fan of Objectives, as the AI does not understand them.

    In the xml, removed the apostrophe

    In map.yml removed the apostrophe and put quotes around the map name

    In objectives.properties note the # comments, xml info name with _ replacing spaces

  • Hello,

    A friend of mine has created a mod of a fantasy world of their creation. We are trying to figure out how to see the "Objectives" Tab and add objectives to it. I've spend an exorbitant amount of time trying to figure it out and I am dumb. The mod is fully functional and we are testing the "balance" in various game runs, but we just can't wrap our heads around Objectives currently. I will say I haven't tested to see if they even work, but without the Objectives tab there's no way for the players to see it visually so I wanted that fixed first. I've looked on the forums here and seen about naming conventions with the map.yml file matching mapName in the game xml file. I've tested both with and without underscores in the name within the objective properties file to no avail. I sourced from other mods to see what their code says and nothing seems to line up simply. I even went from the current stable 2.5 version to the current 2.7 version as of today, 5/5/26. I just can't figure it out. I'm uploading the current iteration of the mod that functions, including the nonfunctioning objectives properties file and objectives in the game xml file.
