in my years of forums they've been attacked a bunch of times in many ways and sometimes they use a thread breaker type of script that floods a post kind of thing I hope it wasn't something like that. Internet = trolls my least favorite are spam bots with advertising posts

@RogerCooper wow this Shulz guy asks a lot of questions I only know from playing this game using the regular air battle rules for like 20 years at least and I don't see the need for improved air craft or air battles plus it still looks pretty cool so whatever this guy literally wants another dozen things changed. Why doesnt he just start making these mods amiright

@RoiEX said in How do I Delete a PBF Game ?: @Panther I'm not sure about that, but potentially we could establish a system that allows users to close their own thread in the PbF/PbEM category. If an admin checks the category once a week or something they could go into the ACP, remove all savegames posted in closed threads from the server and then purge the threads afterwards. That is very interesting, indeed. Definitely something we should keep in mind when it comes to the next discussion about storage!

Thanks Roger. I'll read the thread - good stuff. I think one thing I'm interested in is scenarios that don't turn into mega-stack scenarios. For one thing I find it hard to even see what's in a territory once there are too many units and for another I prefer manuevering around smaller armies. Some maps seem to discourage bigger stacks. The Dragon War map seems split up by seas so maybe stacks stay smaller in that one.

@RoiEX said in Changing How PBF Posts Are Displayed: Never tried this feature, mainly because I find it useful in general. I agree that this will probably disable the code blocks for the posts, however you should keep in mind that changing this feature will probably break the whole post turn summary formatting, especially with leading whitespaces that get trimmed down using markdown. Turning off this feature actually doesn't do anything except remove the colors. The code block is still there with the scroll bars. Although I personally like it when such generic statements are in distinct code blocks, so the whole post isn't cluttered with them (seeing this a lot with stacktraces in github), I can see that the horizontal scrollbars can be really annoying without a touchpad on a laptop or a modern mouse that supports this feature natively. Developers like us like this sort of thing, logs, code, it keeps everything where it should be. Most people using TripleA are not developers. So we should take their feedback and do something different. The only alternative I can come up with right now is to maybe modify the ForumPosters to insert markdown formatting symbols before relevant positions I think this is the way to go. The great thing about Markdown is that the raw text is just as readable as the formatted text. The one thing that I ask is not to use level 1 headers because they get translated into H1 tags and multiple H1 tags on a page is generally bad for SEO. This is the example I posted on a&a .org: Round: 1 --------- ### Purchase Units - Chinese - Trigger Chinese Artillery Supplies: Chinese has their production frontier changed to: productionChinese_Burma_Road_Open - Chinese buy 3 artilleries; Remaining resources: 0 PUs; ### Combat Move - Chinese ### Non Combat Move - Chinese - 4 infantry moved from Yunnan to Szechwan - 2 infantry moved from Hunan to Yunnan - 1 infantry moved from Shensi to Szechwan - 2 infantry moved from Suiyuyan to Shensi - 1 fighter moved from Szechwan to Burma ### Place Units - Chinese - 3 artilleries placed in Szechwan ### Turn Complete - Chinese - Chinese collect 10 PUs; end with 10 PUs - Objective Chinese 1 Burma Road: Chinese met a national objective for an additional 6 PUs; end with 16 PUs renders in to this, which is super nice Round: 1 Purchase Units - Chinese Trigger Chinese Artillery Supplies: Chinese has their production frontier changed to: productionChinese_Burma_Road_Open Chinese buy 3 artilleries; Remaining resources: 0 PUs; Combat Move - Chinese Non Combat Move - Chinese 4 infantry moved from Yunnan to Szechwan 2 infantry moved from Hunan to Yunnan 1 infantry moved from Shensi to Szechwan 2 infantry moved from Suiyuyan to Shensi 1 fighter moved from Szechwan to Burma Place Units - Chinese 3 artilleries placed in Szechwan Turn Complete - Chinese Chinese collect 10 PUs; end with 10 PUs Objective Chinese 1 Burma Road: Chinese met a national objective for an additional 6 PUs; end with 16 PUs

@scousemart Thanks for confirming the resolution. It's unfortunate that Hotmail doesn't indicate 2FA is enabled in the failure message, as Gmail does. It would have saved some time for your game.

@RoiEX The regular workflow of course is to add a savegame to the posting. But there are situations where you only want to post the summary, as @redrum mentioned an example for. So a solution that defaults to adding savegames offering a way to disable it would be fine, IMHO.

@redrum @RoiEX @Cernel Just one more aspect in this context: By the rules scrambling is the very last action happening during Combat Move Phase. So whenever combat moves will be posted in the future, there must always be room for the scrambling move before any dice are rolled. Also rocket attacks need to be kept out of the Combat Move Phase and moved to the Conduct Combat Phase instead. (see https://github.com/triplea-game/triplea/issues/3846)
